the explorer is getting the 4.6L 3v mustang engine, does this mean the stang will be getting it too?

All right! Another vehicle that will take away "allocation" of this motor from the GT! Ford already took a pass on increasing production of this engine for the GT (yeah, yeah, CAFE). Put the F150 together with the Explorer and you have a bad situation developing for the GT next year. Maybe I should get on the list for an '08 now.

Easy, you have no idea about the manufacturing numbers of the 3v engine..
Besides, 3v production started late in the 05 model run at Romeo as Essex in windsor started until Romeo could take over.
That won't happen this year.

Sorry but the way you worded it was a bit confusing to me. I would guess that they might go to the 6 speed auto since they tend to offer not only better performance but better economy as well.

I think this 6-speed auto is the one Ford & GM have been working on together . . . . for what it's worth.

No, the Five Hundred has one built by Aisin. I may have the spelling wrong, but it is not the one that Ford and GM worked together on.
