I found some information and a download for disks being burnt on Windows Media, specifically for people that are having issues with MP3's that can't be read....

Specifically, take a look a bullet points 3 and 4, which seems to describe the problem that some of you are getting with the Shaker series.

MP3 Burning Fix for Windows Media

I'm continuing to look for some other popular program fixes as well...

Hope this helps!

This fix would apply to any car stereo, not just the Shaker....what's important here is HOW you are burning the CD's, not where you are playing them.

The fix I suggested in the previous post is ONLY for people that are burning there CD's through the Windows Media function.

Again, if you are using a different burning software, please let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. Make sure that you provide the version of the CD software as well (For example, Roxio come in a bunch of different flavors: Version 4, 5, 5 Platinum, 5 Platinum Multi User, 6, 7, etc...)

In reguards to the Roxio EasyCD Creator software, the best info that I've come up with here is to try changing the brand of CD-R's that you are using. If you are using something cheap, you might want to buy 5 Sony's or a higher quality CD and try them. That seems to have corrected the problem for other Roxio users with MP3 playback issues.

Actually, that is a good first step just in general, trying a different brand of CD. Like I said, don't buy a 100 disk spindel of them, until you are happy with the results, just like 5 at a time.

I'll keep diggin!

In light of the problems with the Shaker 500 mentioned by the forum members I told the dealer to drop the Shaker 500 from the vehicle order confirmation and return to the standard am/fm single cd player option. The Shaker 500 for Canadians cost $673.00. I am sure for that price that I can buy an aftermarket car stereo that does not have cd changer problems. Also regarding the potential price hike for the vehicle the dealer has given me a price guarantee and the order for the mustang will be going in on 26 November 2004. The dealer is suggesting a delivery date of February 2005. Personally I think that because of the delays with the IUP's the delivery will probably be April or May.

That download is no good if you have installed the new service pack 2 for XP users, which you should have already done. This is an older fix that is included in SP2.

Since this was about the CD problems I have started a new topic in the audio/interior section. Did not want to get so off topic.
