just got my new Motor Trend in the mail today. had a little on some new upcomming Ford Cars. It talked about a Boss 302 comming out before Ford does the makeover in 2009. also had some stuff about a 2 door Fusion and Lincoln MKV(or whatever they're changing the Zephyrs name too). Man i might have to work some overtime for a while so I can get a Boss and keep my GT.

I haven't seen it, but a buddy told me there's an article about a 390HP BOSS in Motor Trend. Anyone see it yet?

When i see 390... i usually think 4.6 4v S/C engine

And honestly that would be a great engine to use...

A proven winner is the best choice. Plus, mods should be easy enough to find.

 

I agree. But I think the idea of having 390 HP coming from a naturally aspirated 5.4L V8 sounds cooler than having it generated from a 4.6L supercharged engine. I don't know why. I guess I'm just wierd. I forgot how many cubic inches the 5.4L is. Either way, it would probably sound better than a Boss 281.

 

5.4L = 329.52 cubic inches... rounding up it would be a good ole 330 cubic in.

So Boss 330 anyone?

 

BOSS 330 is what Motor Trend predicted in their issue a few months back.

 

Since the article mentions a 5.0L V8, one might conclude that the engine going in the PJ Saleen Mustang was some good R&D done by Saleen to help out Ford's effort.

I think a 5.0L all aluminum 3V motor would be excellent.

 

Why 3V?

 

I am speculating on that arrangment, based on that is what is in the PJ Saleen Mustang already.

Didn't 5.0 Mag show an up and coming Boss 302 block from FRPP from the SEMA show a few issues ago? Maybe that is what they will be using.

 

i can see where you could get confused. i should have made the subject line a little different.

in the motor trend article this month it talks about Ford kinda striping down the interior to cut cost. I wonder if that means it will be something like the Cobra R's with no rear seats?

 

I hope not, if I were looking for a v8 powered two seater in the mid-30s, I would go for an '04 Z06.

 

the 5.4 isnt going to save any weight.... if that IS a prority... when I see the number 390...I automatically think the terminator motor as well
