2012 BOSS Mustang steering wheel in 05-09?
Sat in a Boss 302 today after picking up my car after some AC work. That steering wheel is extremely nice. Guys have been getting it at Tousley for $143, my local dealer is $217. People are assuming the Tousley price is wrong and will go up shortly, not sure.
As you can see from the picture I shamelessly stole from the 2010 forum from a member who replaced the steering wheel in his 5.0, it has the suede type material and the hand grip dealy bobber things (yep, that's the part number, I looked it up). This picture shows the Sync controls, which this guy swapped in, looks very nice. The Boss doesn't come with those. I'm cool with some of the buttons not working for the stereo, would still be nice for the cruise control though.
From sitting in it and this pic, the airbag looks exactly the same and hopefully a direct swap, and if I'm not mistaken, someone here installed a 2010+ steering wheel in an 05-09 already. Really interested in this mod, hopefully someone can chime in on install possibilities for the 05-09.

Ummm, if they are that cheap, I am interested too. I have an aftermarket radio so I can probably get all the steering wheel buttons to work.
My leather wrapped wheel has a small scratch on it...

I have done a little research and I believe that any 10-12 mustang steering wheel will fit into 05-09's.
First things first, if you look at photos of base 2011 gt's, they have the same base steering wheel of an 05-09.

Also upon reading this thread ( https://themustangsource.com/f722/20...-wheel-496943/ ) I have made the conclusion that they are directly replaceable without any modifications.
I plan on buying one this month (probably 2 weeks from today) and I'll let you know how it goes... unless one of you does it first!

if I wasnt broke, I'd jump all over this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-...s#ht_885wt_862
includes 2 of the fob/keys for 400...
I'm pretty sure the 2010 wheel lists at 550~ I was thinking about one when I first saw the 2010 interior.

I pretty sure you don't need the full assembly just the wheel itself. The wheel's center cap and airbag of your current vehicle would swap out to the new wheel.

yes- thought it was kinda odd they were selling the entire column...I got a leather wheel/shift **** for our 09 already...if I coulda found a cheaper 10+ wheel I'd have rather had that. I thought the 05 leather wheel was the best looking airbagged wheel I ever saw- but the 10 is even better

Here's what I found out today.
I went to my local Ford dealership for some pricing on this. Price's are in CAD.
Wheel -------------- $344
Controls Left side --- $70
Controls Right side -- $75
It appears to come with the center cap, but obviously without an airbag.
Also, there are NONE in stock in North America I have been told.

And yes, a 2010+ wheel WILL fit in our cars. You must either cut the plug from the harness from the 05-09 wheel & solder it into the 2010+ wheel, or purchase a harness, cut the connector and wire it to the new wheel, so you can leave the previous wheel intact. I've done it with a 2011 GT500 wheel and it works and looks killer!!!
