2008 GT Deluxe one key

Hey guys,

Question, Should I have one or two keys for my car??

It sounds stupid but I just realized I only seem to have one key.

I've been reading the forums about the PATS system and such
but I'm wondering if I got shorted a spare key or if this is it.

It's been a long time since I bought a new car and don't remember
if I should have a spare key already from the dealer.
so???

thx

yes you should have two keys, check with your owners manual and other literature that came with the car, thats where I found the spare for my fusion. if you dont have it go back to the dealer.

you should have an extra remote as well

That is if you bought it new, used its a crapshoot

Thanks,

I found it, I had it in a folder with all the other car documents.

When I didn't find my spare key with all the other spare keys I have I panicked.

Thanks!

a spare key cut is easy, a spare key programmed when you dont have two is expensive.

and no problem jim

When I bought mine it was the night before Christmas Eve, so everyone was kind of in a hurry to start their mini vacation. It didn't have two keys and I told them that every car I have owned it came with more than one key. They got me another plus a FOB....not only that but they gave me three huge Poinsettias that were sitting in the show room.
I guess they felt bad especially after I bought two brand new vehicles that night.

Yeah, I've bought a few "nearly new" cars before and only got one set of keys but I haven't bought a brand new one in over 10 years so I didn't know if this was how it was done now. Seems like everyone tries to charge extra for stuff that used to be standard items that you never got charged for. For awhile there I thought it applied to spare keys too.
