2007 5-speed tranny built where??

I 'searched' but it sure is time-consuming and no luck. I'm sure it has been discussed but where were our 2007 5-speed transmissions built??
I'm asking because I stopped by the local Ford dealer to see the new 2013 Mustangs and saw that the trannys were built in China. I then 'searched' that and found out that there have been quite a few issues.
A Mustang tranny built in China just sounds so wrong. I'm hoping ours was built in the US or Canada.

I don't recall exactly, but I'm sure that there are plenty of parts on your car that are from China...And plenty of other countries as well.

I'm pretty sure i remember ford putting together some type a fix back in August of 2011. I do know that the issues were not widespread. Unfortunately reading on a forums can give you a limited slice of the pie and make it seem like a bigger issue than it really is. That isnt any consolation for those who have had an issue, i know, but it is true. By and large I would say the whole 'made in china' argument is moot or even xenophobic as there are now probably hundreds of thousands of the trannys out there with no issue.

yeah, the tremec 5 speed tranny was built in mexico- tennessee plant builds shifters/components, michigan is just the office part. the only issue with mine has been burnt the 2nd synchro powershifting, abuse like that will tear anything up, but its all in good fun Ive shopped for heavy duty synchro kits, they are pricey- like 700 bucks- seemed like a lot for what it is... heck, ive rebuilt automatics for 100 bucks if soft parts were all needed...woulda expected a stick to be cheap to redo, but havent found cheap parts source yet.

have heard a lot of issues with the chinese 6 speeds, but they will get them sorted out eventually...the way the plants are anymore they could be made in a small town in zimbabwe and it wouldnt make much difference...with the automation/QA these days, labor is meaning less and less...but too, if folks are making a nickel a day, cant expect much pride/workmanship either. sure wish this stuff was still US made, sadly aside from teaching china manufacturing techniques, lately weve taught a lot about metallurgy, and their cheep stuff is getting better every day.

hmm...

3700+ driveshaft and clutch...ouch, but still...800 ftlb, 8000 rpm rated shifts...sounds pretty unbreakable.

The manual transmission used in Mustangs from 2005-2010 was sourced from Tremec in Mexico, NC07GTCS.
