I just saw some info on the 2006 V6 options. All the same as 2005 but now have a "Pony Package" which consists basically of the interior and exterior sport package, plus some trinkets , plus foglamps in grille, plus 17in. wheels.
Option is $1350.00

Where did you see this. That is a pretty cool package.

Still take my Sonic Blue with IUP then wait for that package.

But very nice for those who want a 06 V6.

Did you see in your info if the base price will increase?

Seems like a way to draw demand away from the GT while they figure out how to bump up production if you ask me...Other than the horsepower, the look of the GT is the only thing that draws me away from the V6. Maybe with those options, I might look at a V6 again...

I thought that part of the original idea of the 05's besides the complete redesign, was to be able to distinguish the GT from V6 unlike in recent years where appearance was almost identical?

i thought so too...i dont like the idea of a pony package :nono: . i think if anything they should offer a performance package like maybe nice dual exhaust and better gearing. slapping some scoops decals and lights on it is just a "phony package"

As far as I know, like the GT. So what you now have is a V6 GT!

No pics yet.

Not sure about the price, although it may have a small increase. Saw this on the database used by the military car sales guy. That is where I ordered my V6

Good one Danny - you beat me to the punch!!

IIRC didn't the "Pony" package on past models (including the beloved Pinto) stand for the inexpensive models? Very base with just a few options - so those on a REALLY tight budget could afford the car?

I know that was the case with the "Pony" Escort. Now there is some heritage...

yup, this totally agrees with that snap shot John took of the grill he saw at the plant. Slightly smaller foglights with the coral around the pony.

So does that mean us 2005 v6 owners can soon get a 2006 v6 replacement grill with fogs?

or will they be a different size all together - like the 05GT

Straight swap I'd say. Unlikely Ford would go with a different front bumper cover.
