2006 Repair/Service Manual?

Anyone know if Chilton has published the 2006 Mustang Repair Manual? I did find the 2005-2006 Ford Service Manual DVD Torrent.. but those huge BitTorrent files take forever to download. Thx

Just look on ebay for the factory service manual/wiring diagrams (not CD...the real books). They are MUCH better than the Chilton manuals.

They cost more, but they are invaluable when needed.

Chilton manulas are useless IMO. The factory manuals are the only ones that are good even though they can be expensive. They do save you a lot of money that could have been spent on labor to get the car fixed though.

This website has the manuals. It's www.helminc.com. The workshop manual and the wiring diagram manual are the main ones you will need. There is also a powertrain/emissions manual that's helpful depending on what you will be doing to the car. I have them for all the cars in my family. Once in a while you can find them on ebay for cheaper.

You can get the factory DVD on ebay for 20-30 bucks from a few different sellers.

A paper version is nicer, but you cannot beat the price on the above.

I would NOT recommend the CD version

Simple reason: while you are working on the car, are you going to put your greasy hands on the computer to try looking at something.

Look frequently on ebay for the paper version. It may be expensive, but it pays for itself the first time you use it.

I have a greasy computer in my garage.
Seriously, my wife's company was giving away old computers.
It may be slow, but it plays CDs.
You can find old computers for free or under $50 all over the place now.
Everybody is giving away the old CRT monitors.

That's great for music.

However, the Service Manual is on a DVD.

Dustin's was a CD, it loaded on it just fine when he came over (slow, of course).
Well, of course I have external DVD drives and C'mon how long does it take to put in a DVD drive?
They're givin' them away too. (Not high speed burners)
Actually I have everything transfered to a portable hard drive.

Thats why we have printers. I print the section I need before I start the job.

Besides, I never handle my paper shop manuals with greasy hands either. So I dont see the difference.

I found the miracle of wearing gloves while working on stuff a while back. It even helpw protect my hands from those annoying little scratches and scrapes you get. I use a laptop in the garage too - Who needs a manual when you have Taco Bill?

I always refer back to the Manual for torque specs and some general tips before I attempt most of my mods (like the e-brake swap!).

The service manaual DVD's are nice, I just print out what information I am going to need before I do the job, that way my pc stays nice and clean, even though I have a old greasy computer in the garage as well.

The new Manuals are on DVD... and they're huge. I'm currently making one big PDF out Factory Service Info DVD... it's a big manual job, but I'm almost done... when I have that one big PDF ready, it'll be easy to print it out.

Oh, you can fit the S197 manual into CD too... just take the S197 parts of GIGANTIC ARCs from DVD... theyre *7B.arc -files!
