Here's a crude photoshop hack job, but as down-and-dirty as this is I'm liking what I see

I'm really looking forward to this mod. I've wanted fog lights since I got my car, and I think the chrome corral puts this grill over the top.

Is there any real meat to the Pony package (handling package, LSD, sportier exhaust, etc.) or is it pretty much a fluff and decor package outside the fog lights?

While I like the smaller fog lights, the cross bar and enclosed pony is a bit fussy and gaudy for my tastes -- "ohhhhhh, look, more shiny things" -- hopefully that's just restricted to the Pony package or some other singular option.

Please notify when available.

Also, do you have any idea what it will take to get these fogs working on the 05 V6. I'm under the impression that the wiring harness does not have whatever it needs to use the OEM fog light switch.

Me too!

Muuuust have pony griiiiiille

==Also, do you have any idea what it will take to get these fogs working on the 05 V6==

I'm guessing we're going to be on our own as far as wiring the lights up. No doubt they will modify the '06 wiring harness and fuse box to accommodate the driving lights (something Ford did NOT do on the '05 V6). There's a guy on eBay that sells the wiring harness to adapt the GT lights to the V6, it should work for converting the Pony Package grille as well.

==Is there any real meat to the Pony package (handling package, LSD, sportier exhaust, etc.) or is it pretty much a fluff and decor package outside the fog lights?==

All fluff, same as in previous years. It'll include the grille/ lights, running pony emblems, side stripes (unknown if they are the same as the exterior upgrade stripes) and different floormats. I can't remember, but it may include the rear spoiler too.

==the cross bar and enclosed pony is a bit fussy and gaudy for my tastes -- "ohhhhhh, look, more shiny things" ==

Blasphemy!! Those are the classic "spears" and "corral" as placed on vintage Mustangs with the GT package.

Now THAT really brings out the looks of the V6. Makes the retro styling even better!

Thought they were a bit fussy and gaudy back then too, oh well. Not everything that is "classic" or "traditional" is necessarily good, merely that it's been around a while. There were goofy Stangs among the great Stangs even back then.

While retro to a point is cool, it is VERY easy to go way overboard with it, devolving into some goofy pseudo-repro look which 99% of the time just looks dated, clumsy and forced. For the retro look to really work, it takes quite a deft and subtle hand rather than just tacking on old bits and pieces *****-nilly. To my eye at least, that spear and corral thing does cross that line. But to each their own, which is why I hope its just an option specific to the Pony and not something we'll see across the board (GTs too).

I do wish they would come up with a performance package for the V6 beyond the fluff 'n stuff Pony package, especially now that Ford really doesn't have any smaller coupe such as the Probe on whose toes to step on. Emphasis would obviously be more on handling, braking and chassis dynamics -- though a bit more euphonious exhaust would be nice too. Such a package would be a boon to younger drivers who'd otherwise get back-handed by the good hands people when they try to insure a steaming 300hp V8 Stang.

Thanks, I feel the same way. The V6 grille looks too plain, but putting the GT lights on makes it look like it's trying to be a GT (even though I do like the GT-to-V6 grille conversions I've seen). The pony grille is just right, it enhances the look of the front end and has its own identity at the same time.

For '06 it's just part of the Pony Package. In fact, some GT owners have been talking about converting their cars to the pony grille when it comes out! I think Kevin is going to sell quite a few of these

I know that there is a tape/stripe delete option for the Pony Package, but does anyone know if you can delete the spoiler too?

I LOVE the pacakage, but HATE the spolier.
