Yours says BOTH polished and painted??? This is what my DORA says:

64E 18'' BRIGHT MACHINED PNTD ALUM
PONY CENTER CAP

If I'm going to get painted Bullitts I might as well go for the standard 17'' ones and save $735 invoice.

Yes you're right... I was at work... so yeah Machined... Painted... Aluminum...

Does that mean that they will be the midnight silver?

I wouldnt go by what yor DORA says at this point for a description.

THIS IS NOT AN INVOICE. IT PROVIDES "TENATIVE" PRICE INFORMATION THAT WOULD APPLY IF THE VEHICLE IS PRDUCED TO THE "SPECIFICATIONS SHOWN".
PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.

this tells me they can change anything they want. and most DORA's were printed out before ford even knew WTF. ya know

Okay, so maybe Im the only one here with this opinion, but....

I just dont like the polished silver/chrome bullitts. I love the look of the chrome ring and the darker painted "spokes" if you want to call them that. like the 17" bullitts, i just wish they were 18". I guess no one will know what this "Midnight Silver" thing is until they start seeing them on the street.

I just dont like chrome wheels, oh well.

Not really chrome. Polished Aluminum. They shouldnt flake/peel along the inside flange like chromed wheels are prone to. But like any alum wheel will corode after time and cause rim leaks. Easy buffed down without harming wheel.
Chrome wheels start to flake and peel, lookin like crap after time.

The description might be correct. The outside of the wheel will be polished, but the inside will probably be painted. I doubt they will polish the entire wheel, both inside and out. Therefore the wheel will be polished and painted.

I'm with you 100% on this, could never get to appreciate any kind of "excessively" shiny wheels, they take too much attention off the car. Just my own taste of course :-)

I prefer the standard 17'' bullits over these new polished 18'' bullits.

Thought I had read something about the suspension being slightly different with the 18" rims. Could be a factor..

What I would like to know is what exactly is "late availablity" on 64W? Are we talking 1 month or 6 months or something in between. I don't think I could wait much longer than January for my car, and given that fact I'm ordering, I don't think I stand much of a chance on the fanblades. Does anyone have a clue?

Wouldn't they have different codes for a polished rim vs. a painted one?

Do we know which the 64E is? Anyone have pic of an 18" painted bullitt to compare to the "softer" look of the 17" bullitt?

I'm just guessing here... but I would bet that the 64E will be exactly like the 17" bullits from the '05 model... except they'll be 18", as they are both polished (on the lip) and painted (on the spokes).

While at first glance I would agree, the first post in this thread shows differently.

Also, looking at the 06 Order Guide, the 17" (64F) are listed as:

17" Premium Painted Cast Aluminum Wheel

and the 18" (64E) are listed as:

18" Polished Aluminum Wheel

The order guide says "polished", but my DORA says "painted"...I have a bad feeling that the DORA is probably the correct one.

Guys, i just had the wheel options confirmed by my dealer in Dearborn. The 64E option is the fanblade style and the 18" bullit won't be available until October. They were confused on which was which as we all have been, but they called the plant to confirm and the fanblades are what is available to start the fall. Bullit's won't be available right away. I'm really po'ed at this so if anyone can confirm this claim to settle my qualms i would be greatful. I really wanted to Bullit's!! but not at the expense of waiting a couple months more.

I just had to go through some of the older pics and compare the 64Ws.
And lookly here. Ford totally screwed up with the production rims!!!!!

The Protoype look amazing and are beefy and have character.
The productions look like plastic hubcabs compared to these.

Compare:
(gonna have to split between 2 messsage)
Crappy restrictions)
