There has been a lot of confusion regarding the 2006 Mustang GT wheels, but this post will put an end to the madness!

64E: 18" Polished Aluminum Wheel w/Small Tri-Bar Pony Center Cap: Bullitt Wheel

64W: 18" Premium Aluminum Wheel, Late Availability: Fanblades

So the 18 inch options are:
1) a 1 inch larger version of a wheel that was allready available
2) a late arriving, shoddy, bait and switch version of what was only a decent wheel to begin with.

...great

2 words, after-market.

"Late Availability" Isn't that what they said early on for the 2005's?

I love this car, but it has the lamest options ever.

The 18" Bullitts are of different design than that of the 17s

Brad has stated that the 17s are softer, and the 18s are more along the lines of the 01-04 SN95 Bullitts

Brad, the finish is the polished aluminum, any word on the Midnight silver finish?

Are the 18" Bullits 18x8 or 18x9?

I hope so. I'm not a big fan of the current Bullitts.

Thanks for the news, Brad!

1) 1" bigger and polished unlike the current anthracites, hopefully more 3-dimensional.
2) Still not sure what premium means, late again though, so it might not be those painted ones we saw.

I'm going with the Bullits.

Well I have to say... I THOUGHT I was getting the fanblades... then I saw them on another car and pretty much figured I'd be going aftermarket.

Now who knows? Maybe I won't need to. We shall see

I ordered 64E, which I though were the Fanblades. Oh, well. Now that I see they aren't going to be completely polished I don't want them as much. I will keep the 18inch Bullitts as winter rims and get winter tires. Hopefully by next spring I can find somebody making the Fanblades chromed or polished.

EDIT: Guess I should change my sig. now, huh?

Put it this way... I have not seen any 18" Bullit wheels from Ford, but I have seen the 18" Fanblades. This leads me to believe that the late availability wheels are the Bullits. Secondly, there have been vehicles ('06) that have serialized with the 64E wheel option, has there not? I thought a vehicle was not scheduled for production unless the parts are thought to be available for build at that time............ Some thoughts to ponder""

Yeah, I thought that the Bullits were the 'late' wheels and that they were going to be an inch wider than the fan blades. Man, I'm getting so confused. I don't care anymore, just give me some 18"'s and my car :bang:

Yeah...that's what they said. My dad got one of those "personalized" '05 brochures from the web site last year. In it was a pic of chrome Bullitt rim with a spinner, but just a picture, no order information. A website flash video had that same picture. That is all any of us have seen of this Bullitt rim for the new Mustang, pictures, yet it's still available for Job1 and not the Fanblades. What's up with that?

How long has Ford been tweaking this fanblade now? 2-3 years? And they still can't seem to get it right? :bang: Think they may be having quality problems? If I decide to switch to 64W on my order and wait, they had better be PREMIUM - meaning just like the ones on the show car. No cheap paint cover up. I think I'll just leave my order untouched so I can just get my car and worry about the wheels later, but that's an expensive concession.

Anyone with 64W's on order (thinking they were Bullitts, like we all did) how much does it show they cost? The 64E's seem a bit steep now for what they are. I shudder to think how much they may charge for the 64W's - they had better put 245's on them too.

Ford.... :notnice: Anything else I could say would get filtered...

Not that I'm questioning you, Brad - but can you identify your source for the information on the wheels? That might make a few of us a bit calmer (or not) knowing where the info was coming from.

Thanks

Yes!!! I had 64W s on order thinking they were Bullitts. I asked my dealer to stand by for a correction, but he needs to know ASAP. Has anyone seen any confirmatory information that we can rely on?

I'm just gonna stick with the 17 inch bullits on my 06 order, this is all too confusing, and I think the 18 in. wheel option is a bit steep.
