No book markings! Just used the search function menu, typed in "Dead Battery" in the search box and the thread links displayed with no problem issues whatsoever. Lots of posts in all those threads, so it can definitely be very time consuming to read all of them, no doubt lol.

Well, since ya bumped this up... 
I am not going to say a battery tender is a bad idea for long term storage. I'm not even saying it's bad idea for a short term, if it's a week or two before use...
But if it's a 3 day dead battery, you're probably going to kill a battery tender, or at the very least send a lot of wasted power keeping something running when it shouldn't be. And possibly make things worse as something burns itself out. Which will solve the problem, truth, but still, not ideal, and in the right situation, could be *really* bad for your car... or garage... house...
I say, if you've got this kind of problem, the battery tender is not the fix, it's a patch and a really bad one. Fix the problem first, then use the tender when it's right.
But again, *that is me*. I ain't dictatin'. I'm just sayin'. You all do you all, and that'll do... um, all? No, still not right...
.. One day I'll have a group version of that sayin'... One day...
But anyway, there ya go for what it's worth.

Also keep in mind that a battery tender is a maintainer/conditioner designed to help keep fully charged batteries maintained. They are not designed for restoring discharged batteries, such as a battery charger is intended for. Therefore, the purpose of a battery tender is to maintain a fully charged battery while either in storage or whenever the vehicle is not in use for more than one-two week periods.
Otherwise, just as Houtex brought up in his post, battery tenders are not a fix for restoring a discharged battery. That being said, either fix the issue by restoring the discharged battery with a battery charger or replace the battery altogether

if you want to fix this problem you need to start by putting the factory radio back in and open both doors and put the key over 15 feet away from the car and let the car go to sleep once the dome light goes off by itself the car is asleep do not close the doors during the radio removal process reinstall the aftermarket radio and your drain should not be there anymore.

Radio pulling over an amp when off.
I think I may have found the issue in my 06 GT, after reading numerous posts on this matter. I took an amp reading between the neg. terminal and the neg. terminal connector with car off, key out, and all fuses in place my amp draw was 1.497. After pulling the 20amp fuse, #56 in the engine compartment for the radio, it dropped down to 0.167... bad radio, BAD, BAD RADIO. I guess I'll be upgrading the radio so I don't have to keep the car on a trickle charger and I can stop replacing batteries.

I will tell You This The Radio Will Behave Better If You Remove All the Cd's Before Storing. It Likes To Cycle At Random! Go Figure! Mine Jammed up with a Low Battery Some Years Back and I Had to Replace It! I went Back Stock!
Let Us Know How The New Radio Install Works Out! Be Very Curious at The Draw!
