Thanks for all the replies. I just had a dealer email me back offering $500 over invoice on an ordered 2006 Mustang GT. That seems like a pretty good deal. I also just graduated college, so I think I can get a recent college grad discount. Is this right guys?

Also, I have heard great things about Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, TX. I am going to contact them also and see what kind of deal they can give me.

I am having a hard time deciding on the color though. I am deciding between Black, Tungsten, Vista Blue, and maybe yellow. Any advice?

If you don't mind me asking, which dealer offered $500 over?

Dont get Vista Blue. Of the 3 you mentioned that's the color I'm most likely to get, and since we live in the same town (of 1.1 million), I need to feel important having the only one in town

Invoice pricing from Karpro, but you're gonna wait for it. He seems easy to deal with though, even when he's in NY and I'm in GA.

I don't expect my car to be delivered before January, and it might be later than that.

Sorry but I can't post the "actual" price I got as I agreed not to but suffice to say it was NOT over MSRP.
Seriously? Did you sign a nondisclosure agreement? I have never heard of that.

I am going to begin my dealer search shortly. Anyone know of any good dealers excepting x-plan in nj, pa, de area? Also for those of you getting x-plan, do they ask for anything else other then your pin?

Yes they asked me not to say. Don't really care if it sounds ridiculous to you sorry but I gave my word. I know that might not mean much nowadays but to me it does

That is a bit odd that they don't want you to say, it's like they don't want to sell cars or something. If I were a dealership, I would be like, yeah tell everyone what you got so they can come down and put an order in.

Thats why I ordered my car from Karpro. Not only does he not require such ridiculous secrecy his dealership even tells you exactly what they are paying for the car and shows you their profit. No Haggling, no sales pressure if you like the deal buy the car, and from the deal I imagine most people will buy the car.

I wouldn't trust a car salesman that was too secretive. I love when they try to pass offf that they are giving just YOU (who just walked thru the door five minutes ago for the first time) that special deal unavailable to anyone else. RIGHT.

Kev, what kind of wait is your dealership offering on 06's? Are they accepting X-plan?

It shouldn't make any difference. Stop by some dealers, state what you want, and under which terms you are willing to give them your business. If one rejects your offer, go to another. One will bite.

My car had a $5K AMV over MSRP state wide. There were only 10 coupes available in the state at that time and they were hot. I called each and every dealer. Two accepted my offer at $1K over invoice (about $2K off MSRP), one got the sale. Also, I got $200 over KBB trade in value for a '03 Mach 1.

Patience and shopping around has never failed me.

MrMorden,

Are you having you car "dropped shipped" to GA, or are you going up to NY to pick it up? If you are having it delivered in GA, how much did that cost?

Thanks

Mark
