I’m wondering if anyone has pictures of the optional 18” wheels.

My Vehicle Order Confirmation from the dealer has
18” BRT Machined Pony Center Cap (64E)
For a description.

The other choice was:
Premium Aluminum wheel (64W)

On the Mustang source website, they mentions 3 different 18” wheels for 2006.
“Fanblades"
18" Bullitt
18" Marauder

When ordering at he dealer, the computer only had 2 18” wheels
Painted or Bright machined.

Any info on what these look like would be appreciated.

No pics yet. I dunno if anybody is completely sure of which is which. But I have a feeling they will be released shortly. And when they do, be sure you'll see 'em here first! You can change your order if you like one better, though. I think you can change it all the way up until your given a vin#? Perhaps somebody else can clarify that.

Oh, yeah Congrats on the order!

So, if the wheels I ordered are not the fanblades (64E), can I change my order without getting my build date pushed back? I know we don't have a build date yet if we ordered an 06, but will we be put behind other peoples orders that ordered after us? Oh, by the way the Marauder wheels are ugly IMO

Hey Josh, if you wanted to change something on your order, you don't get pushed back behind others after you. It would be a "change" in the order, and you just need to do it before the car is "Locked In". Once it's locked in, you can't change anything anymore. If you were looking to order an '06, you have plenty of time to change something. They don't start building these till August 8th. Plus depending on where your looking to order your car from, you may have a few people in head of you, so I would worry too much about ordering the wrong wheels.

Personally, I have already ordered a 2006 for a customer from this site, and I think that 64E is the code for the "Fanblades", and that 64W is the code for the 18" Bullitts, as that code is listed as "Late Availability". We should know withing a few weeks which wheels are which. Good luck on your order .

I just saw the Fanblade design on an 04 Crown Vic. Anything you can get on a Crown Vic I don't want to have shared with a Mustang.

This isn't going to help any but here's what I have on the evolution of the fanblade to date.

This is what most of us are assuming is going to be the actual production fanblade (courtesy AmyV6 and some anonymous dude on another forum) :

[attachmentid=26989]

[attachmentid=26991]

This was the fanblade shown on the Tungsten Grey Showcar (courtesy JohnH):

[attachmentid=26990]

And there's also a chrome one, seen on the Redfire show car and on the Tungsten Grey in Motortrend.

I don't care for the chrome ones, but I like the polished ones and the polished/painted ones set for production. I also prefer the black/blue Ford oval center cap.

Is it just me or do the show car versions seem to have a deeper "dish bowl" in the center lugnut/center cap area?

Look at that, the Bait and the Switch, all in 1 convenient post. What a sham.

WTF!!! Brad are you sure about this!!! Wait, what am I thinking... we're talking about Ford. Of course, it all make sense now.

But that's cool if it's true... the more I see the 05's with the bullits the more I was thinking I'd like to have them over the fanblades. But I didn't want "late avail" 64W to delay my order.

So does that mean all those folks that we're counting on 64W to be bullits and ordered them know if it changed to something they didn't want they could change there order are NOW going to have to change to 64E's??? Better get the word out quick. I think a lot of orders are going to be changing.

Hmmm... yes I'm very intersted as well. I always though the 64e was the fanblade wheel.
