I was listening to WBAP 820 today and on the Car Guy Show they interview Mr. Tang s.p. live on air for about five minuites. Along with the 18" wheels he said the engine cover would be optional and there would be trim changes. Also a California Special would be available and the V6 would have a tire upgrade option and something I think he called the Pony car package?

Cool. Good info!
That pony package for the six must include those chrome grille mounted fogs. Hope they offer a suspension package for the six as well. Things are only getting better.

The Cali special would be a cool addition to the V6 Lineup, that's for sure.

The engine cover should be included in the IUP package IMO, and the 18" wheels are a long time coming,

Pony Package on the V6.
Would the California Special be GT only? or something that can be added to both trim? or is it a SE?

Can't wait to find out.
Even though I have an 05, I always love the new stuff that I can add onto my car from the next years

I would love to see a California Special edition. I would definitely get one if Ford decides to build them.

But it would have to be a GT, not a V-6. The originals were a cross between a GT and the Shelbys, hence the GT/CS on the scoops. Ford would be stupid to offer it as a V-6 option.

Here is a pic of my California Special. It has a 302 (approx. 325 HP) 4-barrel, Shelby intake, 4-speed, 3.55 gears, Grabber Blue exterior, black interior, dual flowmasters... Next to come are a set of GT-40 aluminum heads

I hear an "Arkansas Special" is supposed to be available in Oklahoma by the end of the model year.

We're gonna get a California Special!
I knew Ford getting the California Special name again was for a good reason.

Jonathon - that's REALLY sharp!! Looks like you have gone through a great deal of work to get it so clean and it looks pretty stock!! I remember back when I was a little guy checking out the late 60's California Specials.....was a great time to be a Mustang fan!!

Hmmm, seeing that I owned a C/S back in the day, this would be very interesting. Although I'd guess the number would be limited like it was back then. And would it also only be sold in California?
