Unhappy 2006 4.6 Manual Knocking Noise

Tonight as I came home from dinner after about a 15 mile drive I stopped for gas. Then I proceeded to go another 2 miles to get home, as I pull into the driveway and coasted to a stop all of a sudden i start to hear a pretty noticeable knocking sound coming from what seemed like the front passenger side? It was fine my whole way to dinner, the whole ride to the gas station and the ride home until I began to coast to a stop. Any ideas before I dig into this any further?

Probably cam phaser knock, since it's on one side.

My guess anyway. Good luck!

So i started it up this morning and i could not hear any knocking sound at all? Is this weird, or could it still be cam phaser?

What scares me is when something starts knocking, and then it stops. For me that's about the time the other shoe drops.

Whatever it is (and it's probably the cam phaser), it is sure to start again. Good luck.
