I know that last 5 numbers mean that it'll be the 3065th order processed.
I guess the 2005 are going to be 1Z instead of 1F. Mine's the 3rd with a 1Z.

"1Z" (rather than "1F") possibly makes sense since AutoAlliance is its own company entity, co-owned by both Ford and Mazda.

Talking

Congrats Zero!.... The vin won't give you any assembly times/dates. Those will be issued later in the process.

thanks man.

can't wait.

*edit:

here's what i was looking for on how to figure out when it's being built.

Are we saying that each shift will build 550 per day? That will give us the 1100 per day with two shifts.
so that puts mine about half way through on the 3rd day of production. right before the shift change i believe.

:worship:

...

The VINS are assigned by FORD, not the plant, when the order is received by Ford, and are sequential only to that point...

AAI is like no other Ford plant. To be perfectly honest with you, I don't know how Ford will calculate the "build date" for your vin. So many factors are involved. It's really hard to say for sure. I would say that whatever they do calculate would be fairly accurate, atleast to sometime within that week, but there's always the possibility it could be longer.

i was just going off of the guesstimate from before. i don't know if those are the actual numbers of cars built per day, but it makes me feel like i know what's going on. lol.

Ford just opened up their VIN decoder site again. Although I could not get the decoder to work, they have another link to a 2004 PDF document that explains each code position. I'll also post the sections that pertain to the Mustang.

VIN Positions 5-7. These are for the 2004's. I believe that the 2005's use a T80 series, for example T82 for a V8 GT.

VIN Position 8. Not sure about this one - perhaps because the Mustang engine shares parts w/the F150 engine it is coded with an H ?

The mustang engine is the x code. It is only rated at 225hp on here. If you look at the fine print at the bottom, it says"4-standard on mustang GT" the 4 is noted next to the x code.
