Here's a quick review from IGN.com of the 2005 Vert. I love it when they say "Forget the people whining about the solid rear axle, the new Mustang can handle."
That is EXACTLY what I've been thinking since people started complaining about the lack of IRS. Bah, who needs it. B)

Nice write up! Notice the gear shift **** displayed, again. Prolly has the intake cover under the hood too.

I wouldn't put much stock in what IGN says. They're primarily an enterainment (movies, TV, gaming) site. Just read the below quote and you'll see what I mean.
The only negative we can really think of at this time is the interior. The fit and finish are top-notch, but the design just didn't do anything for us. We were just not fans of the red seats and the massive aluminum dash trim. But, in fairness, we did like the all-black interior found in the Steeda Mustang GT.
Clearly, the fit and finish are NOT top-notch in the new Mustang (these guys obviously haven't been in that many cars), but the design, on the other hand (which they DIDN'T like) IS in fact very cool.

I can relate to what they say here:

The Mustang GT was so quiet and stable, we thought we were actually driving like slow little old ladies. It wasn't until we glanced at the speedometer that we realized that we were going at speeds that could have caused us to lose our license.
Although my car is a V6, it always seems to go faster than it feels, if I'm not careful. Last weekend I drove on the Garden State Parkway. The traffic was unusually light, so I was able to enter pretty quickly. What seemed like only a few seconds after merging onto the highway, I wondered why everyone else was driving so slowly. I looked at the speedo.....it read 70.

Also notice that they have the 0-60 time of 5.1, no way the vert gets to 60 that fast.

The first couple on a lot in California or Florida might go faster!

This may be the major upgrade we've been hearing about from Ford! :worship:

IGN is pretty reputable when it comes to cars aren’t they... I’ll wait for a review from someone respected in the community rather then a crappy game site for my car reviews, thanks for the link anyway.

I'd consider them the BEST game site. However, they are not primarily a car website and therefore do not have the experience of the import lovers at Motor Trend. They also are not primarily a video game page. I just figured you would want to know the opinions of people who drove the car. From what I read, it seems they love the car other than the interior. Plus, the 1/4 time may not belong to the vert seeing as how they also drove the coupe for the first time during this test. In fact, seeing as they were herded around by Ford, they probably got the time from some car site or magazine.

One man's trash is another man's treasure, I guess.

Personally IGN use to be decent back when it first came out I was a fan. But, now its current state is horrible and its slowly getting worse.

What I am trying to say is I know the car is great I don't need IGN to tell me that. Don't take it as a flame just my personal view.

I think this is an old picture, notice the side bolster seat back release which was on the preproduction cars but did not make it into production.

The chome badge you see may be the very one you saw last year!
