Okay, I got a response from the show organizer about the GT.

Its a Windveil Blue 05 GT......lucky Boomer....no red for me yet.

Here's the reply:

"Danny,

Thank you for your interest in our show. To answer your question, yes the '05 Mustang is here for the whole weekend. It is a blue/gunmetal.

If there are any other questions please respond.

Best Regards,

Auto Show Committee 2004"

OK.....First off Thanks Frank for the heads up and the directions! They were right on the money. After 4 hours driving,(You guys don't fool around up there on the 401 ..do ya!) . The GT , Windveil blue with light blue leather...non IUP was back in the FORD tent as far as it would go. (They wanted everybody to walk past the other new FOMOCO entries to get there ). Anyway, as everyone says the car is AWESOME in person, the finish is far superior to my Bullitt . The sheetmetal is flawless. There were no Ford reps there, however the show is at the Canadian Auto Institute and the people manning the booths were students at the school. They were very enthusiastic and had basic "Sales" knowledge, but the site here is way ahead on what we know. Everthing was locked up , but I mentioned that I had one sitting up at AAI waiting for it's ride home and Voila! Next thing I know I'm in the seat! A couple of observations....nothing that probably hasen't been covered but here goes..... The seats If you have ever been in Bullitt/Mach seats you know that they are the best seats as far as support/bolster ever in a mustang. The 05 seat is about in the middle between the current GT and the Bullitt........Certainly a big improvement from what we have. The shifter is comfortably positioned and again, I have a Triax in my 01....The 05 feels better than the "Stock" throw, but still could use shortening. Again between the current and "Short throw" shifters available. Front has much more room and you sit "In/Down in the car. Also the "Wraparound" feel is not there like in the current car, not a bad just different . If you have spent time in a 67/68 , you'll know what I mean. There is ROOM in the engine bay again...just like 65/67. Headers should be a vastly easier job. Wife took a few pics....nothing we haven't seen, I'll put a couple up. I am so PUMPED! This car is going to be a blast . Good luck to those of you go up Sunday. The FOMOCO tent also has a 500, Freestyle and an Escape Hybride there which is really COOL. Get them babies on the train!

Man, I hope we can sit in it.....maybe we can pursuade them......... That is the main thing I'd like to accomplish on this trip since we have seen the WB GT at the Toronto Autoshow before.....not to say I don't want to see the 05 again and again 'cause I do. But something more would be great.

Tell the students that YOUR car is waiting at the factory!...Worked for me. This car had Michelins on it and when asked the rep said that the car came in to the show with "Bald" Rears ! So the michelins were all they could get on short notice. Also had to "Dig" the rubber out of the wheelwells...Somebody was doing some serious burnouts!

Thanks I'll try that.

So you just said: "Hey, my car is being built, can I sit in it and see how it feels?" and they let you?

BTW, thanks for the pics and info.

@Bald Tires: Wow, so someone must have had their way with it.

At first, they said they were not going to open it up....Too crowded, whatever. I talked with them for a few minutes and mentioned eh...hem. "Mine is at the factory waiting to be loaded". Next thing "Do you want to sit in it? Uh Yeah Good luck up there Sunday!

Just got back from the show. Tried my best to talk the young ford rep. into opening the doors, but he wouldn't budge. He wouldn't even open up the trunk (said they didn't have the keys Oh well, it was still nice to have another look at the car. Brought my father along and he's really excited about it. Sorry I missed you guys up there but I had to dash early Hopefully you guys were more persuasive with the reps and got to sit in it. Great day for a car show! Let us know how you made out. jim

Back and reporting

My thoughts:

I really haven't seen the car up close until this event.
Last time it was on the spinning platform. Seeing it up close, and in Windviel sealed the deal on that colour for me.

I haven't realized HOW angular and round the car is, and pictures just don't portray it well. Things like the hood, the line that runs through the gas cap, and on very sharp cut above the windows.

Tried to get them in some shots.

Well, SPECIAL thanks go out to CHRISTIAN P. and the boys, who allowed us in the car. 30 seconds of greatness
Me, Dan, Galaxie each got a chance to have some sit in time. (enough for a photoshot) Thanks a lot man, we understand you weren't suppose to, but props!

One thing I made a point to look at is this

That there be the muffler clamp
Yes, its not welded, it is infact clamped
