I wonder what they were experimenting with for the rear quarter glass
My guess is they are experimenting with the shark kit (side louvers) or something. I can't wait until they unveil this beauty.

FOR RELEASE SEPTEMBER 1, 2004

2005 Roush Mustang

Livonia, MI (August 9, 2004) – The 2005 Roush Mustang design is complete and program executives expect the Stage 1 and 2 models to arrive at Ford dealer showrooms this fall.

The introduction of the 2005 Ford Mustang hit a cord with Jack Roush, a long-time Mustang enthusiast and member of the Mustang Club of America Hall of Fame.

Jack Roush equipped with his corporate pedigree of…
· 34 Ford Racing Championships
· 300 + Ford Racing Victories
· 1,000 certified engineers
· 7,000 + Roush vehicles built (includes: Mustang, Focus, F-150, Cougar and Expedition)
· 10 wins in 10 attempts at the 24 Hours of Daytona (in a Ford Mustang)
… sent his team of design, chassis and power train engineers to work on the new 2005 Ford Mustang.

“The design direction of the stock 2005 Mustang GT couldn’t have been any better for our application. Our design theme, since we created the first Roush Mustang in 1995, was connected to my traditional design preferences,†said Jack Roush.

The new 2005 Roush Mustang follows a traditional design blueprint that is prevalent in all Roush Mustangs.

The Front:
With a new front bumper and a lower chin spoiler and splitter, the front end design of the new Roush Mustang is well connected to its racing heritage. Roush has created multiple options for the buyer on the functionality of the front fascia openings.

“The intent on these openings was to allow our customers to turn these openings into fog lamps, brake ducts, cold air intake outlet or simply black them out. We support all of these options through our aftermarket parts program,†said Larry Parker, President of Roush Performance.

To complete the front-end design, Roush added a hood scoop that was reminiscent of his days as a driver.

“I pulled the hood scoop from my collection of old Mustang hoods. I pulled one (hood) that I had stored away from a ’69 Mustang. I sat it next to the clay model as a constant reminder of what my favorite Mustang scoop looked like,†said Roush.

The Side Profile:
Lowered by 1-inch, the new Roush Mustang has an aggressive stance on its newly designed 19-inch wheels and performance tires.

Roush designed a side rocker molding to complete the lower design theme. Although a visual trademark of the Roush Mustang for years, the side exhaust option will not be available due to package envelop constraints.

“There were only a couple of inches of clearance for us to work with on the rocker panels. Instead of risking the design with functionality issues, we decided to enhance the rear bumper treatments,†said Roush.

The Rear:
From the standpoint of true Mustang tradition, the fastback rear design treatment from the factory plays more favorably into the Roush design theme than any other Mustang aftermarket designer.

For the Mustang’s rear design treatment, Roush adds: an aggressive rear wing, a nostalgic quarter window scoop, a rear bumper treatment with the Roush brand name embossed between the custom exhaust tips.

Roush will begin production on the 2005 Mustang in November 2004.

I was gonna say it looks like a Boss 429 scoop to me.

That's the same scoop from the Roush Focus and F-150.
