2005 Pricing
#22
Ford knows what they're going to charge for the '05, they're holding off announcing until they announce additional incentives to move the thousands of '04s still on dealer lots (they should ship them to Puerto Rico or Mexico, IMHO)

I'm thinking pricing is a factor to many buyers, but if Ford gets enough feedback from fans who want the car no matter what, they can adjust the price accordingly.
Free market and all.
Other stuff that might factor in...
If there's a big enough supply of 2004 on the lots, this would in turn make them sell those 2004s off the lots faster if 2005 prices were bumped up, with disappointed buyers picking up the remaining 2004s at a lower price.
Cost over-runs with the AAI facility; depending how the first weeks of production go, any cost over-runs I think might make their way into the final pricing. The company has an obligation to their investors, and if they stuck purely with PR pricing at a loss, some executive types and bean-counters would lose their jobs, among other things.
I'm probably wrong.
I guess I'm just thinking the worst.

Everyone keeps saying the 27th...Are'nt cars supposed to be on lots by then? My salesman told me around the end of Sept all along. I know he is just estimating, but why would they have cars on the lot or preorders coming in that they could not sell because of no pricing.
I really don't know what the big secret is.

LOL!!! Most original idea ever. Not at all a good one, but very original. I give you credit for that.

Funny, I was going to mention Cuba, but I think their per capita income is about $1,000 per year...I doubt anyone on the island could afford one- except "El Presidente"

B) It was reported last month that AAI plans to make 44,000 units by Christmas shutdown, This is in line with 180,000 per year (45K/Qtr).
 Imagine there is really no big secret about price inside FoMoCo; just makes sense releasing price when units launched AND available for sale. Also why htere is no national advertising roll-out yet.
If there are orders for 50,000 units I recon a good chunk of those are for rental packages already ordered and to be delivered over a 4-6 month period,
Don't worry Zambeni; they'll be here soon. I'm guessing all the current pre-orders will be delivered BEFORE Thanksgiving. After all this has been in the works for a couple of years. :usa:

I'm not ordering until I know the price, so I hope they hurry up. Speaking of ordering, has anyone ordered a car and requested a delivery date further out then ASAP? Curious as that may be the way I do it. Makes it easier for planning finances etc...

I vote that this thread be locked. Everytime I look at the forum topics, I see- "2005 Pricing", and my heart skips a beat. And then I'm like, oh... it's just the room where people are complaining about not having prices yet. The name of this room should have been- "People who want to whine about not having prices out yet". I mean come on. Prices will come. We all know the base V6 is going to be right at or below $20k, and the base GT will be right at or below $25k. As far as options, just look at the options from 2004, and add 2-3%. I guarnatee you will be able to come within $500 of what your car will be. Ford is going to hold out on announcing prices as long as they can. Because they don't want to hurt sales of the 2004 stangs. My guess is the end of this month- right on or close to September 27th. And no amount of whining or complaining is going to make it come any sooner. I vote to lock this thread and any others like it until someone actually has official prices.

Wouldn't the pricing have to be out by the time the cars arrive at the dealers? Hard to sell cars without prices and I am sure they will be selling like hotcakes that's why mine is ordered. I think the 50,000 ordered number is probably all orders for the year at the rental car places and the dealer plus customer orders so far. Pretty impressive all in all I say. :usa:

i'm with acadian on this one..... there are sooooooooo many "prices" threads its rediculous- its like crying wolf- we've had the name "2005 pricing" on so many threads that when the REAL pricing comes out- and someone posts it.... we're all going to think its just another whine session-

I know the prices (it's nicing having people in Ford :P). I can't reveal them or they could get in trouble but all I can say is they are decently priced.

Let me phrase the question this way: How much are YOU willing to pay for your particular setup?
Kaptin, do you think it would be reasonable to use the military prices as a ballpark? Also, can you tell us when pricing will be released?
Thanks.
