2005 Mustang Ownership Poll v6 & v8
I ordered a Gt Premium W.B. on 10/04/04 and by 11/11/04 I stilldid not have V.I.N. so I ordered the same car from another dealer and I took delivery on 12/29/04 from the second dealer and still never received a V.I.N.# from first dealer.
I special orderd Satin Silver, but had the opportunity to purchase a Torch Red optioned out the same as what I ordered, and did so.
Torch was my co-#1 choice of colors at order, so I basically got what I want. I've owned since 11-29-04.......and the Satin Silver has been built with an ETA before the end of this month, and it has been sold.

Ordered on oct,9 had no updates from dealer or vin #, Contacted a dealer that had a car in stock (internet inventory), the car was in transit. Six days later the second dealer called me at 9:00pm and said my car just arrived at the lot. I purchased this car, and got the same discount I had got on the pre -order car.
The only difference between the two cars was the shaker, the car I purchased had the 1000. No regrets. Drove my new stang to the dealer I ordered from and got my deposit back.

I was up in the air as to whether or not I wanted the 05. I know, it sounds silly, but it was nice being payment free. I had been looking at getting a new Mustang this time last year and was just about to sign the papers and the salesman asked if I really wanted this or if I wanted to wait. We only had one vehicle so I needed something quick. I decided to wait and see if I "liked" the 05.
In the meantime I bought a used Mustang and was happy with it. November rolls around and the salesman calls and says he's got a GT that just came off the truck, was I interested? I got off work, went to the dealer and came home (wasn't the ext/int color I wanted) with a big cheese eatin' grin on my face. He took one look at me and said I guess you're getting the car huh? Took a few weeks to find what I wanted- either MG or Perform. White GT, 5 speed, Drk Chrcoal leather, IUP. Had almost given up on finding it and had set a deadline to order. Finally found it and funny thing is, I don't mind this car payment!

Ordered a Satin Silver Premium GT 5-speed, IUP, ICAP, Alarm on 12/30. Still clean/unscheduled. Order came up at the time with INFO message: "18G unavailable, recommend 18R." Ignored that, and ordered anyway.
Yesterday I got a call from the salesman saying that the Ford Regional rep was at his dealership right then, scheduling build dates, and if I was willing to drop the IUP, my car could have been in his allocation for either the week of 1/20 to 1/26, or 1/27 to 2/2. I told him to forget it! B)
Meanwhile, I had just driven at lunch to another dealer to check out some other colors in person, because I was never totally convinced that Satin Silver was the color I really wanted, but I hadn't seen the other colors in person, so I wasn't sure how they really looked. Well, this other dealer had a Torch Red, a Redfire, and a Screaming Yellow all lined up in a row, PERFECT for side-by-side comparison, and to my eyes, the two reds were nice, but the Screaming Yellow was STUNNING!
So when I was on the phone with the salesman after returning from the drive, I told him to change my order from silver to yellow... Hope to get the car by April when the snow clears.

I ordered a GT, but the order was on hold because of IUP and ICAP. I got lucky though - a dealer 2 hours away had one nearly identical to what I was going to order, so I picked that one up instead - and am very happy I did
