2005 Mustang News from the front
2005 Mustang News from the front
Went to the dealer again today to find out any new news on my GT. Seems everyone at the dealer knows who I am and what I’m there about.
This is from my dealer right after talking with some regional guru…
Warning: Probably old news.
But it seems ford is finally admitting it’s a shipping problem (at least to my dealer) with the mustangs not arriving. Ford had been stung in the past with QC problems on new models (al la Thunderbird), and the co. was being extra cautious with the units first coming off the line. Those first units were all being held back, for QC inspections, but the primary lots were filling up, so they moved them to secondary, then tertiary lots. The lots are so backed up it could be weeks before a *majority* of the mustangs get to the eagerly waiting new owners.
There are no known production build problems (like it's been said here before); it's all a shipping f-up.
So, except for a lucky few, those ordering early (I was mid May) will be waiting a while for the whole mess to be straightened out and all those 2 month old mustangs ship.
And (strictly gossip so far) the Nov.4 kick-off date for the mustang has been pushed back because of the PR mess; I hear it was in USA-Today as well, but a google search didn’t bring up anything online.
Oh well.
