Well Marshall Ford here in Cleveland hasn't been placing orders yet, because they have been holding off until pricing is available. They called today and said next week, pricing is available and my name is number one on a list of about 10 names, and they only can take the first three, so I'm in luck. I get the first production 2005 vehicle when it arrives.
We also are very good friends with the people there ... my grandpa bought all his cars there, and so has my family, so we get our cars for around 250 dollars over dealer invoice, meaning a huge cost cut for me. They said they'd do this even for the 2005 Mustang for me. You don't know how incredibly happy this makes a 17 year old.

It may be a mistake on their part, I;m jsut telling you what they told me today.
As to insurance, it won't be so bad if my Mom is put on as the primary driver ... for insurance sake, and my dad agreed to pay insurance if I buy or lease the car myself, which I'm doing.

One thing has been consistent from all these pricing threads though,,,,,,,,,they all say pricing will be available on a MONDAY
So far,,,,,weve seen 23 mondays this years,,,,,12+ left till Sept JOB1,,,,,
The odds of it "NOT" being this comming moday is .083333:1
Week after,,,,,will be .09090:1
In 3 weeks,,,,,will be .10000:1

however, it does seem like these pricing threads are a reincarnated form of the 18" availability threads. a new one every time you hit the refresh button

Agreed, this thread was the exact inane and asinine topics we've heard time and time and time and time and time again, most recently, this past weekend about pricing.
Good news about the dealer, i guess, although the price cut isn't going be as drastic as you might think, the Mustang is not a high profit vehicle, over invoice, so the cut isnt going to be 'huge.' As far as you being one of three out of 10, and getting the first vehicle, it sounds like the dealer is blowing smoke up your ****, like telling you pricing will be available next week.
PRICING WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL LATE SUMMER, AT OR NEAR JOB1. (is this not clear to anyone)
Call your dealer and politely inform him that you know pricing will not be made available until August or September, but you'd like to place your order anyways. They're not holding off on ordering, they're holding off on ordering YOUR car. The order banks opened two weeks ago, a dealer cant afford to wait until ordering, there's too much risk that they might not get a Mustang, 2005's 'it' car, until late October/early November. Dealers want all the new toys as soon as possible. If they're holding off on taking your order, you are definitely not in line for the first production car in the dealership, if you want it ordered to your specs. Also i have a hard time imagining a dealership being allocated 3 cars, and having all three cars spoken for before they hit the lot. There's too much chance at not getting another shipment for a week or two, and running out.
Not trying to disappoint you, just pointing out some things i see as being obvious, but that's to me. I'm a realist, im attempting to keep you grounded.
Pricing will not be available next week tho, you should really correct your dealer asap.
