Awesome! Homestead is only 20 miles from where I live. Time to get tickets to the race! If I get in I'll post pics of the stang in action.

BTW Dan, I think Topnotch based that silver pace car on the CAD images we had long before the concept was unveiled.

The silver one would sell a lot to the street users like the 1979 Indy pace car. Also there was a nice silver Vette that was tasteful for the Indy 500 street use market.

too bad the pics are photoshops of existing pictures.
True, and it would look better on Torch Red or Sonic Blue with 2000 Cobra R-like wheels. [/b][/quote]
actually guys.....the pic might not be a photoshop. I live in Miami and my best friend works in Coral Gables. Today he called me saying that there was a 2005 mustang with Nascar Pace Car stickers on it outside his office. He borrowed a 35mm camera from someone and managed to take 4 pics of it. I'll post them as soon as he gets them developed.

I then rushed over there but by the time I got there it was gone (the mustang that is). Only the Ford Five Hundred and the Freestyle were there. The trucks and trailers hauling those cars around were also there.

I started talking to the driver of the F250 hauling the mustang around. He said that the car was being driven to a local tv station where they were using it for a promo shoot. He also said that the car would not be returning to Coral Gables because he was told to pic it up at the station. He also mentioned that the stickers on the car would be off by tomorrow and that they had only put them on the car because Mark Martin was in town.

So this leads me to believe that it might not be the actual pace car but just a fill in show version.

Here are the pics that I was able to take with my digital camera. Enjoy.

I don't think so. Take a look at the pic....it has a rounded back like the concept. The CAD didn't have the concpet rear. Plus, it has hood scoops.

I think I remember topnotch tweaked the concept slightly (ie. side scallop vs. scoops) to resemble the CAD.

My point is, that car is still the concept. The production and the concept look almost identical.

Correct me (again) if I'm wrong.

The pics are, without question, photoshops.

I'm sure they can and will change them. How much, I can't venture to guess. Since they are just photochops anything can change. Those pics could just be the initial idea for the pace car.
