That video was just too depressing to keep watching.
Whoever was behind the wheel obviously isn't very good at negotiating the twisty bits of the ring. Sure it sounds good for the brief few moments that the driver hammers it but the rest of the time he's lifting completely off the throttle. Sad to say, but the white Rabbit had a much better driver at the wheel.

He did the lap in 9:12, which isn't terrible considering there was some slow traffic. I'm a bit confused about his brakes, but I wouldn't be surprised if he meant that his brakes just faded badly right before the bridge.
I thought that was some very good driving. It's almost impossible to learn that track because of all the turns. You could tell that in some corners he was waiting to get back on the gas until he was sure what the corner was going to do.
We don't know the relative experience of the drivers, but the fact that he stayed with a GT3, Porsche's street legal race car, tells me he did a pretty good job!

Don't ever get the idea a Mustang can hang with a GT2/GT3, car for car.
Looked like a fun drive, but certainly nope top-shelf.
And, just for comparison, 9:12 is not all that good of a time for the Mustang (though it is pretty good for an average driver in his personal car)
7:46 — Porsche 996 GT2
8:11 — Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX (06/2004)
8:26 — Nissan 350Z (2003)
8:39 — Honda S2000 (01/2000)

But, the guy in the vid wasn't a pro driver either, so I am pretty confident the Mustang can go quicker.
That's what I mean, those cars have stock brakes and suspension that can handle the Ring, unlike the Mustang. I also agree with you, that driver could have done better.

The GT's stock brakes overheat very easily and the suspension needs to be improved for better track manners. I think the guy that made that video even said "no brakes!" as he was trying to stop.
