Great read,

the Mustang certainly has generated a positive buzz for Ford, moreso than any other car they have launched in recent memory.

I don't expect the demand to tail off dramatically as with the PT Cruiser or Beetle. I'll bet sales will remain strong throughout the production run.

That's great news.

I wonder Ford could hit 200K cars build for MY 05?

I doubt that they will make 200K of 05 MYs. I say at best, 170,000 if there are no other problems

The '05 started production late, Sept 7. Normally the new MY starts production in late July or early August, so at best the '05 will have only an 11 month run.

Plus it took almost 2 months or until November before the production line reached full speed.

Between these 2 factors Ford will only get the equivalent of about 10 full months of production for the '05 MY, unless they delay the normal changeover to '06 MY production.
