I got a call from a dealer here in Southfield MI regarding my inquiry for the vert $.

The vehicle I spec'd:

GT Premium Convertible
Manual
IUP
Color Accent Pkg
Side Air Bags
Anti-Theft
Boot ( apparently you have to buy this )
Satin Silver, Black Top

I forgot the piece of paper I wrote the prices on at work, but it was approx:

MSRP $32,400
Aplan $28,600

Exact same specs, but Coupe:

MSRP $28K
Aplan $24.4K

I really want a vert, but that's quite expensive, don't you think?

What prices have you guys been getting on verts? I finally conceded getting rid of my Audi TT if I could get a vert, but 28K is a lot more than 24K.

Also, he said no one has GTs, the IUPs (Interior Upgrade Packages) are on hold due the MyColor shortage, and you can't get side air bags or red interior with the de-contented Sport Package ( just steering wheel and shifter aluminum ).

Finally, he said the vert would be ordered as an 05, not 06, and he has no info on the 18" fan blades yet.

Seemed pretty knowledgeable, I was on the S197 design team and this guy seemed fairly competent in his knowledge of the car.
