I still love that body style alot. but your right. It was a huge inprovement over the box-like 79-93 mustangs. I like everything '64 to '73 and '94 to now.


74 - 93 mustangs... The ones I want to forget. lol

I know it's a question of personal taste but I believe the 94-98 mustangs are the best looking of "modern" mustangs, I even prefer it to the 05.

I prefer the 05 .. but it's too bad that the 94-98 Mustangs were also the slowest Mustangs in a while.

I've been sold on the concept ever since i saw it the first time. Was a bit dissapointed when i saw the production model.......
The roofline is much nicer on the concept, as well as the taillights(if we get those with a SE...that's fine....I'll wait), the wheels which i don't like at all on the production model will be one of the first change i'll do....That's too bad cuz i would have liked to stick with Ford's OE, but just don't like'm...
The fron end of the production is fine with me.....but it badly needs some kind of scoop or nostrils on the hood, again if the SE has that...I'll be sold again.....

I like the concept better than the production version. Wish I could order the concept hood. I do like the side windows on prod. Could make one really GREAT car if you could take & piece them together. But, I have ordered mine so I guess I better just better throw all my concept pictures away or I'll just start to wonder....."what if"

Tail lights on the current Mustang are the best. I would really like the 05 with the current tail lights. B)

I still feel this is totally the Cobra. JUst think about it. This design came out AFTER the design for the 05 was settled on. That means that this was just a design effort to make the current car look cooler and meaner. At the same show that this was inveiled, the next-gen Lightning was also unveiled. The lighting is still a few years from production, yet they had the design settled way before???? I think they did this same thing for the Mustang. The design for the Cobra has been settled on, and it is more-or-less the concept.

I'd say it'll be less like the concept.

The concept does have a very similar shape and similar lines to the production version, but the sheetmetal is noticeably different. I for one don't believe the SVT version will sell enough units to warrant new stampings for the body.

I had an 89 too. I never liked them either, best looking Fox was the 86(one of my favorite stangs).

This compairison, although interesting, is like torture to me!!!
Don't get me wrong, I do like the production design a lot, but when is Ford going to start putting some better "wow" into the details of their production design. All of the nice exterior details in the concept were foregone. Details like the bumper piece between the headlight bucket and grill. I wish I new why they dumped these things. To me they're huge!

Im betting just about all of it reappears in 07 other then the interior styling. Maybe even the spare tire treatment. B)

I think many people mistake the concept "GT" for being the basis of a real Mustang GT. That car had a 400 hp Cobra engine, and was never intended to enter production as a GT. I like Kevin's idea (or is it more than an idea?) that that body style will be for the SVT.

Have a nice and close look at my avatar and say: Oh i'm sorry, i didn't know such nicely restored foxex still existed! What i like about my car is the 'low profile it has', still it can do the quarter in 13.5 at 104mph with only a cold air kit and gears, and yes my friend did it with his....Power shifts of course....

I like the production model better myself. I've championed it ever since I ran across the CAD drawings on the net a while ago.
