Pro-Concept:
- I like the concept's mirrors a lot better. Even if they weren't painted, at least they wouldn't look like they belonged on a truck.
- It needs hood scoops.
- I like the round turn signals better.
- Roofline
- The grille pony is better.
- I've actually grown to like the black headlight buckets.
- Exhaust exits under the bumper.

I'll still be looking for some aftermarket taillights and pass thru exhaust like on the concept as well as some nice quarter window vents! :drive:
Damian.

I still dig the concept more. Everything about it. I don't like looking at it because I know I can't have it :bang: . If the 2010 stang looks like the concept I'll be getting another new mustang in 5 years.
Don't get me wrong I still love the production version. I just love the concept a little more.

Kinda difficult.....cuz it's a v6 GT comparison, however:
Production's tail lights
Concept's side view.
I like the GT Production's front, but perfer hood scoops of concept GT. Comparing the v6 front to concept GT, the concept will win.

When seeing the concept in person at the NY Inter Auto Show I fell in love with it's gorgeous lines and overall futuristic/retro styling. I have already expressed my huge disappointment with the production model, also viewed at the same show this past April. Maybe it will grow on me, surely hope so. However, when I saw my 94 production model for the first time it was immediate..................so I will see. I have come to realize that looks is entirely in the eyes of the beholder, given the concept to ME is a quantum level more handsome a car, while most of this site's opinions truly like the production model.

Hopefully they make this for the 05 also.

I feel positive that the hood will change on GT models within 1-2 years after the initial 2005 release.
I also feel Ford was being cautious when deciding on the production design over the concept, maybe to not scareoff current Mustang owners or prospective buyers. Personally, it would be nice to see Ford take a chance, but it seems they wanted to have a bridge between the current 2004 Mustangs to the new 2005 Mustang.
Tails on 2004 and 2005 share similarities.
Exhaust outlet in the rear fascia of both are similar.
Of course we all should know why the round front signal lights could not remain, but if you don't, government regulations mandate the turn signal be clearly viewable from the side of the car, with reflective properties. The round front signal lights did not meet this. To keep the round front turn signals would have meant a separate lens or signal on the left and right front corners of the fenders.
