I'm a V6 Mustang owner! The only thing that kills me is when the gt's, cobra's, etc pull up next to me and rev thier engines! haha Like I didn't realize mine is a 6!

a vast majority that I know that give 6'rs a hard time are ones who drive 10year+ old and beat up gt's. You know, all dented up and say missing the door panels in the interior types.

I just got a 05 mustang last week but it is not a GT do people meaning mustang owners look down on owners of V6's that r mustangs thinking they r out of their class
thx 05 owner
As you know, the V-6 is an awesome engine in a fantastic car. I am as proud as I can be of mine, and don't mind a bit telling folks that I chose the V-6 over the GT.

$5,000 is a big jump in my estimation. I could have managed the payment, but the grill of the GT was another concern for me. Some love it, and some don't.

I have never gotten anything but acceptance from folks here, and I don't subscribe to other forums.
Congrats on your new pony!

Jim

Nothing wrong with the V6 at all.
Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
My first two stangs were inline 6's.
These cars never won any races, but they did get the girls.
And with the hood closed. It's still a Mustang. What else would anyone need? Or want for that matter.

Hmm...I've always said v6's are wannabe stangs. Not on the forums. Just driving around town. Looks like I need to change the way I think. Apologies to all 6 drivers out there!

That's what my husband calls them. I wanted a V6 originally, but he talked me into the GT. But if it came down to it, he'd take a V6 in a heart beat cause it's still a Mustang!

heh, my first mustang was a 4 cylinder...and an automatic....
still, remarkably fun. we put a decent looking set of polished AR 15" 5 spokes, with some nice rubber (265s in the back) and I was happy. Its not the powerplant, It's the car. loved that little pathetically slow bastard.

The '05 that I have on order is the V6. I went that way for a few reasons. First, cost, I dont need the V8 so why pay for it?? Next , my wife will be driving the car most of the time and she doesnt need a V8. Also I have a V8 in my '67 coupe. Anyone wants to laugh at my V6 can come back when Im driving the '67!! And last, I dont like the fog lights, I didnt like them in '69 and I still dont like them. I liked the '70 and the '05 V6 grille looks more like that.
Ive always enjoyed the Mustang look, who cares what other people think!!! As long as YOUR happy...remember, its YOUR car!!

And as for putting GT or Cobra enblems on the V6....DONT !!!! I will, however put the Pony enblems on the side where the GT's have the GT enblem. I think it will look sharp.

I have a 2000 V6 vert right now. And arround here, I get f-bodies and Gt's reving at me all the time. I have dual exhaust and some cobra R rims, so I think they figure its a V8 (some people are dumb). Although, my license plate reads "MV6TANG" (MUSTANG with a V6 in it. clever, my mom thought it up).

Funny story....I pulled up to KFC and went in. My car had just been washed and waxed. While in there, a bunch of guy show up in Z28's (three of them). They come inside, and are lookin at my car.

"Dude...thats a nice looking stang"
"Its a GT for sure"
"No its not, no bumper cut outs"
"yes it is, they must have switched the bumpers...look...dual exhaust"
"Look at the plate...M-V-6-T-A-N-G...I think its a joke...he is pretending to be a GT".

By now, I am laughing...have my food...and as I pass them I say "Yeah, its a V6...and I am darn proud of it...and you guys made my day...thanks"

the look on their faces was priceless as I did a burnout (with t-lock...two wheels) and took off.

The other day one of my friends in his Focus had an 04 Cobra throw revs at him. Thats right a Cobra! We just laughed. Turned out there were dealer plates on the car so the guy didnt even own it! Which figures as most Cobra owners Ive run across dont generally race on the streets. Seeing as to how theyve made a larger financial investment they tend to baby em. Cant say I blame em! Just another example that illustrates that there are a FEW people out there (and not just ones that drive Mustangs) that are "compensating".

Mustang is great 6 or 8! Don't worry if some inconsiderate people make remarks. Most would give there right arm to own an 05. Good job, Great car.
