Not at all.

I think I speak for everybody here that we ALL respect V-6's. Many of us have/had them and they are absolutely great.

Welcome to the Mustang World!

If you could post pics of yours that would be great as well!

Congrats on your new stang!

No way. My last mustang was a 2001 V6 manual and I loved it. When I bought it 2 years ago I thought I was the coolest thing since the Fonz and without it I would've had no leverage to buy my new GT(which I still have no VIN or build date for). Besides without the V6 there would be no GT. It is a majority of the mustang sales from what everyone here says.

In time respect for the 05 v6s will grow because I consider this v6 in a new class of engines. Performance is rising every year within the v6 genre. As soon as some cars start getting beat by a lowly 6 cyl. respect will grow. 210hp 240lb ft.

Yes...

That's ridiculous man. Whether we like it or not, if it weren't for the V6's the Mustang probably wouldn't be around today. It's still a Mustang and we admire your taste That's the beauty of this car, it appeals to just about everybody.

:flag2: Not at all. My 1st Mustang was a '65 with a six; wish I still had it. More fun than legally allowed ... Lots of fond memories. Welcome to the "club"

You will find even here on this site some people looking down thier noses at V6s. I would say though, that most dont. For those that do, dont let 'em bug ya. You got yourself a sweet ride there, no one can deny that!

I am jealous that you have your 05! Congrats, enjoy it... From what I understand, the V6s have better exterior packages than the GTs do.

Welcome to The Mustang Source. You will find a ton of info here!

Not so bad on here, but on a lot of sites, ie: stangnet and corral, people really look down on v6's. I know I caught heck for having a v6 at my high school when I was in high school, local hangouts, cruise-ins, even at mustang shows I get comments like "why would you enter a v6" etc.

1984 Mustang V6 (1984-1987) automatic
1998 Mustang V6 (Current) automatic
2005 Mustang V6 ( On Order) automatic

There has been the occasional smart hiney that has commented that I should have GT's rather the V6's. But for me its a personal choice, after all I am the one paying for the cars and driving them. I would not worry about what anyone has to say about your choice.

I've never had a V6 but I've never looked down at anybody for having one. I understand that people have different tastes and sometimes youre limited by what you can afford or what you can get on insurance. The only thing I dislike are those that try to disguise their vehicles by rebadging it with GT or Cobra emblems or body kits without any performance upgrades to back it up with (that includes GT owners with Cobra badging). Probably why I dislike rice so much. Ive seen V6s that are capable of 300 hp (usually with a blower) so its not like you cant make it faster later. Look at it this way, you own a Mustang, it doesnt matter if its a V6, GT, Cobra or even a Mustang II, youre now part of the Mustang family. A rather large family with a long heritage and one that Im proud to be a member of and you should be too. Welcome!
