I hear from a local Ford Dealer that there is a Mach 1 coming out soon. And like the previous version it will get the drive train out of the previous year cobra. 4.6L with T-56 6 speed tranny and the roots blower for 390 horse.
Anyone heard any similar rumors?

I would like to see this come out, but I think the Cobra will be next in line for late 2006, before any other special editions come out. Dealers haven't proven to be reliable sourses of release news for upcoming models. I just heard from one yesterday that the GT wasn't available with an automatic transmission yet, and we know that's not true.

I think a lot of dealers (or individual salespeople) make stuff up as they go. I mean where else would such wacky information come from? No auto in the GT? Numerous people have stated they've been told by dealers that "no GTs till next year" meanwhile many of us are driving them.
Dealers are simply not suppliers of good information.

According to this Ebay seller, he has a Mach 1
Mach 1 Tires
I emailed the seller asking for a picture of the 2005 Mach 1, since I have not seen one before.

Now I'm with you guys, but wouldn't telling people that there is a special edition Mach 1 coming deter current sales?
But on second thought people who beleive them don't care and people that don't just look at them and say..you don't know what your talking about...
It amazes me, I'm no doctor, engineer actually, and could u imagine how fast you would get fired in my world if I didn't know what I were providing at work. Unreal. I still live by the whole, ask the dealer what kind of car he drives, if its no way related to what he's selling, beware.

When I was shopping for a 2004 Mustang last December, I started to discuss the upcoming 2005 with this young salesman. He was dead serious when he told me the new Mustang was going to be a 2 Seater and the back seat was going to be an option but an expencive one. Where do they come up with this stuff ?? Yes the original protoype show cars were TWO seaters, but in every article written at the time it was clearly stated that this could not and would not be a production feature. Not once did Ford even hint that in MIGHT be.
Very few car salesman are knowledgeable about the CURRENT cars on the lot, let alone the new models coming.

I replied to his message and asked why did they revert to the old body style for an 05 Mach 1. And why did they decrease the HP to less than the 05 V6 model.
Edit: I just got a response; "Couldn't tell ya."

There does not seem to be any SE in the works. Possibly a stripe package in 06 but nothing big. The Cobra will be first. Likely at least a year and a half to two years away from an SE.
