Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords has said that the new 2005 mustang is rumor to have 290-295 rwhp..... now i think its a 16% loss to the wheels so that makes it near 350 HP at the flywheel?!

flywheel hp means nothing if u cant get it to the wheels IMO.

 

I can't even fathom that.

BTW, someone reported these figures previously (they got a hold of that magazine).

However, I doubt that MM&FF would want to get Ford upset by publishing false info so there is a good chance this might be legit.

Let me point out a few things if this is true:

1. Assuming 290rwhp,
Actual FWHP = 341hp (assuming 15% losses)

2. It will outrun a Mach 1 for sure which means low 13's for sure with best times breaking into the 12's.

3. Did I mention this thing is going to be F-A-S-T.

Let's hope its true.

I guess sometimes RWHP # are hard to put into perspective as well as compare to other cars so the natural thing to do is to convert to fwhp. Its understandable.
