In the '04 GTO vs. '04 Mach 1 article, they mention that the '05 GT is getting 290-295 rwhp!!!

That seems awfully high. Close to 350 at the crank.

Here's the quote:

"...rumor has it that the '05 Mustangs are making 290-295 rwhp from their three-valve 4.6s in clandestine testing." (July 2004, p. 68)

Thanks for the quote.

Could this thing break 12's with 295 rwhp? I can't bear to imagine it.

Thats insane...well the engineer i talked to said it pulled like crazy. Ive heard also that its very similar to a mach...but those rwhp ratings kill a mach...guess we will have to wait and see. If that is the case though i should start making donations to my local police department to prepare for when i get it.

btw 290-295 RWHP translates into a 341-347 HP at the flywheel (I know there was a huge thread on this before)

Chances are though they tested a mule that's been severely tweaked and a production car may be a lot different.

I think there will be an epidemic of it. Ever see the (I thinks it's Honda) comm. with the guy at his doctor with a lead foot? pretty funny.

Which do they measure by. For example, when they say a GTO has 350 Hp does that mean from RWHP or Flywheel?
