2005 GT BBK CAI Smog Check Problems

Anyone have a pre May 2005 Mustang GT with a BBK CAI? I have to smog mine (california) for the first time and it has a BBK CAI. My GT's Date of Manufacture is 02/05 and the CARB D-245-14 approval for the BBK intake only covers Gt's made after May of 05....I have fired off an e-mail to BBK and waiting for a response, anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

First off, I have a C & L. I just smogged my car yesterday, I told the tech (because I know him) that I removed my CAI and returned it to stock for the smog check. He said I should have left it on because he knows me and the car ran cleaner with it on. They inspect to insure that no mods have taken place, but the testing there is no difference. I would (if I was you) return it to stock, smog it and put the CAI back on. Just my .02.

Thanks for the info.

I will be putting it back to stock for the test. I wonder what the difference is between pre May 05 mustangs and post May 05 Mustangs

Don't forget to put some miles on it after you make the change before you take it in.

Pre May 05 Mustang's had a filter in the intake tube.

I have to get mine smogged (California) for May. I have delete plates and I don't think it will pass even if I return it to stock and put on the OEM intake.

I am in so cal (inland empire). Interesting on the added filter on the Pre-05 05s

The latest saga. I put the stock air filter assembly back on. While I had it off, I cleaned the The throttle body with some berryman in a spray can (just around the butterflies). To clean it I pushed the butterflies open by hand (seemed to move easy enough). After buttoning it back up, the car idles funny. When you rev it it comes back down to about 1000 - 1200 RPM and hangs there for 10 seconds and then goes down to normal idle (around 800 rpm). I tried resetting the computer (disconnected the battery) still no good. Any ideas on whats happened????
