I figure on checking out what the car looks like first. I haven't been one of the fortunate ones to actually see/hear an '05. The interior looks great so I think the only thing I'd do is change the shift **** to a fully round one (feels good to shift with). Then change to 18x9 Bullitts in black, maybe even 17x9 to save on weight. H&R springs w/ Bilstein's. A CAI of some sort. MAC Prochamber (if they make it) w/ Flowmasters or Magnaflows (depending on how loud the exhaust get s with the Prochamber).

Hopefully someone will make an extractor hood that looks similar to a '67/'68. And if louvers become available, I'd get those too.

Crossing my fingers for Highland Green w/ black leather for '06. Building a Bullitt look-alike. Or maybe just going to settle for a Mach 1 in red, just like how my dad had one in 1970.

Bah! I'm saving my pennies for an SE if they have a good one around 07, the only thing I plan on buying for it is atleast a 4 car garage (1 bay for the 91, 1 bay for the 02, 1 bay for the new mustang and the last bay for a post lift and a few tools.

Once I buy one, in about 5 years, I'll add le mans striping, a gloss paint job, a 1.5" cowl hood, and some clear turn signals.

I use to manage a sign shop. If you get 2mil automotive vinyl the expected life is 7 years. Personally, I will be using Vinyl. That way I can always change the colour scheme and if it gets scratched I just remove the vinyl and replace it. A lot easier to maintain and cheaper than getting the car painted.

I actually sell the Mustang bumper inserts, but not the Shelby stripes (just yet). Figure I charge $60 for the side rocker panel stripes and those are around six feet long, so the entire length of the car would be about 2x that at around $200 (ordering them online) with dual stripes at 10" wide each.

If I installed them, the price goes to $400 -- it takes a professional about 4-5 hours for the application. These are the prices you should seek from local decal shops in your area, not the ridiculous $1000 quotes I've heard.

thanks for the info and autothing nice stang, me and my wife really love the stripes and its good to hear that vinyl will last decently, do you have to wash it differently and does the paint under the vinyl hold up.

Thanks for the comps on my stripes -- much appreciated!

When washing, I completely ignore the fact I have vinyl stripes, as they are totally unaffected after years of washing in actual car washes with brushes (I'd say 50 per year by machine, since the car is for business use too and must look presentable at all times B) ).

The paint underneath the decals will be in better shape than the exposed paint, as it's been protected from fading and the elements. I haven't peeled it off to check on my own car, but logically that makes sense. I've actually received tons of compliments on the road of what a nice paintjob I have -- a GOOD decal application LOOKS like paint, so that's the bar the quality must meet.

PS- Only wax can damage the stripes, and I mean using those fun rotary buffers, not regular spray-on/spray-off wax. You'll want to tape the edges of the stripes to somewhat keep them protected if you machine buff your car.

My 2005 will likely get silver stripes instead of the blue -- a nicer contrast to black leather.

If Cervinis makes that body kit of Eleanor look anything like the picture that kit forsure. I love the ducktail and the louvers over the window and side scoop. Although it would be lime legend green and white of course not the everyday Eleanor silver and blue.
