I'm sure they'll be ready when the storm of buyers kicks in. They don't have the choice, too much money is at stake....And believe me they know it.....

 

the only thing that ive thought about for short term is a new air filter and or exhaust system

 

Since it's my very first car (paid fully by me) AND my very first car w. actual leather and not airplane seat fabric, I've only bought one thing so far -- a Ford Sunshade to put in the front window (so the leather lasts longer).

Cheap at $9.95 and it's quite neat... white with a big Ford logo in the middle and a pattern of watermark Ford logos all over the rest of it. (I know, not really a mod, but oh well)

 

i am probally going to look into a shaker hood, rims/tires, exhaust and maybe an aftermarket wing (Mach 1 style) if made. thats about all i can think of for now but when the car comes out and i see the products released i might change my mind.

 

Hopefully the Mach 1 shaker hood will be an easy retrofit to the 05' (doesn't something like that void the mfg. warranty though? NOT that I really care -- your car WILL look good with it for sure.)

 

Louvers for the rear window after I wear out the tires new rims new shift ***. New intake tint windows Probably all I can afford but I would like to do more I don't like chrome or aluminum. Change it all to gold or copper or wood.

 

K/N Air Filter, That rear muffler would have to go or be downsized, Tint Windows, Climate Control ***** too match IUP, <<<Squential Taillights>>>, 18" Wheels and Tires.

 

I'll probably go bone-stock for a while. Maybe add a CAI after some time. When the warranty runs out, I'll go for a supercharger.

 

Thinking 19"x10 in the rear (or whatever will fit) and 18x8 up front or maybe 18s all around, suspension, aftermarket hood, maybe side scoops/quarter window scoops (not sure guess I have to see what the concepts look like before I do that), front fascia (also depends on what looks good), dress up the interior with some aftermarket items, and then maybe a year after I have it and more SC kits are available I will SC it.

 

Trying to figure out what rims I want. Most likely 18's with 18x10 in the rear and 18x8 in the front. Will change the head unit to an Alpine DVD 7" screen and add a 12" sub. Would like side louvers, different hood (something with a scoop) and side exhaust.

 

I would bet headers will be available very fast, as well as high-flow cats on 2.5" exhaust, as well as 2.5" Tailpipes and Mufflers.

Computer tuning will be along within 6-8 months, maybe sooner.

Question is, how well will the new computer in the Mustang respond to changes in the motor, exhaust, etc.... Are we going to be getting check engine flashes like the 96-98 Mustangs got when uses off-road of hi-flow exhaust mid-sections? Lets hope not.

Talking to Thai-Tang, he confirmed that the computer will not respond well to mods but he also said that people/aftermarket companies would be able to find ways around it.

Also, there are only 2 cats on the new mustang so flow should be improved. As well, piping is ALREADY 2.5" mandrel bent. Ideally, this means that most of the exhaust benefit and sound improvement should be achieved through a simple muffler swap. It also means that there will be less hp to be gained from installing a cat-back/exhaust though.

I personally don't mind that it comes with a less restrictive setup from the factory. Hopefully this will save you money when it comes to improving the sound (ie. muffler swap is cheaper than a full cat-back). Plus, it should improve the rwhp figures from the factory vs. a more restrictive setup for the same engine.

Headers also look pretty darn good on the 05. Almost "shorties" from the factory. Again, I expect less significant performance improvements here as well.

 

I plan on putting a search feature into the new car.

And then change it to what people have actually done when the time comes.

I would be interested in exhaust/muffler changes. But I would like to hear what others have to say after it has been done (and what it sounds like after being done).
