And it looks like the doors are smaller. That should make it easier getting in and out of the car in tight spots.
The spoiler looks wimpy though.

I never thought the '05 looked as aggressive as the '04, but after seeing this picture I officially change my mind. The way the grill leans forward compared to the '04, it looks like it means business.
Also the '05 looks so seamless compared to the '04!

The 05 looks more aggressive all around, especially the rake of the car, and the front bumper. The spoiler does not look so good though...
I am really struck by how similar the cars look.

The '05 really does just have a much better stance and presence, a lot of it due to the increased WB and vastly decreased front overhang. The '04, on the other hand, looks a bit stubby with its hobby-horse WB and pendulous front overhang.
I don't think the '05's doors are any smaller really but just look that way because of, with the front wheels scooted foreward, the greater amount of fender sheet metal between the door opening and the front wheel well opening.
I agree that the spoiler looks like the ill integrated design afterthought that it is -- blame the plaid suites in marketing -- that distracts and detracts from the '05's otherwise excellent lines and form. But I guess they felt they just had to throw a bone to those who gotta have that tired, trite and grossly overused performance styling cliche (which long ago ceased to indicate any semblance of uniqueness or distinctiveness now that every other Japanese econo-sedan has one), the tack-on, J.C. Whitney rear spoiler.
My other minor gripe with the '05 is what I see is excessive business in the rocker panel/lower valence panel treatment with that sort of whimpy pseado ground effects wannabe thing going on -- it just looks fussy, extraneous and overly delicate compared to the rest of the design. I much prefered the much cleaner '05 Concept treatment or even the current Cobra.
But overall, the '05 is a huge leap forward over the SN95 design.

Cool shot !!! Suddenly the 04 looks a bit "old".... I don't mind the spoiler, and any color would do (ok, maybe not the white one)

I love the way the front wheels on the '05 are pushed forward and lessen the front overhang when compared to the '04. This was my pet peeve about all Mustang designs after 1973; they all had the front wheels too close to the firewall and A-pillar, which looks kind of wimpy.
Having the front wheels close to firewall and A-pillar makes a car look like it's front-wheel drive, like Chrysler's "cab forward" designs.
A small front overhang with the front wheels pushed forward and a long hood reminds me of cars like the AC Cobra, Corvette, 55-57 Thunderbird, Ferrari 365 GTB , etc.
Remember how much better the FR500 looked over normal sn95's?
