Well I've been posting off and on here for a while. I first found this site back in '04 right before the release of the S197 model launch. Anyway I took delivery of my 05 on the 24th of October 2004. Two years later (and a couple of weeks now) and she still looks and drives like the day I drove her off the lot.
I'm just about to hit the 30k mile mark and still haven't had any major issue with the car other than the TSB for the front end popping noise.
I'll keep this post short. I just figured I'd share this with you all and also to show the improved quality of this new mustang. The paint still looks awesome and the leather inside still looks new also .....
Now for a couple of pics ....

I have had mine for a year and a half - 6K miles. No major problems.
I think I might have a dash rattle, and at the 3K mile mark there was a power steering hose leak which the dealer took care of.
Still love the car - it is like Viagra on wheels...

Got mine in April 05 and just approaching the 29.000 mile mark. It's my daily driver (110 mile comute) and have had the following TSB's taken care of all in one visit to my dealer:
1. fuel tank
2. differential clutch packs (slight chattering noise but this TSB fixed it)
3. front end popping noise
It's been very reliable and have had no reason to take it in for anything else. I consider the TSB's to be an acceptable method to have design faults fixed. I have done all the oil changes myself (Motorcraft 5w/20) and kept it looking good with Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax....great stuff.
When the factory warranty is up, the next step will be to add the supercharger, big brakes, wheel/tire upgrades...tasteful and subtle mods.

Yeah, it seems you guys don't drive your cars much.
I wish I could have kept my miles down a bit more but I love driving this car and that is what I bought it for.
I never had a new car before and I was like a kid with a new toy, couldn't put it down.
I got my car in early Jan. 2006 and now have 24,000 miles on it.
It was my daily drive between Jan. and July. Also took it on a lot of trips.
But since July I've only put on 4000 miles, since I got myself a daily beater now. It won't be going out much during the winter except on nice days.
I will say by driving it a lot during the first couple of months I've gotten very good at driving it and now it feels like an extension of myself.

I got mine January 2005, and it's holding up real well. I put 24000 on it that first year, then bought a '97 GMC Sierra that December to use as a beater/daily driver, and only take the stang out in the evenings or weekends--dry weather of course! The Mustang now has 27000 on it. The only problem to date has been the driver side seatback latch isn't working, but that's not a big enough issue to take it in yet.
We now have 4 Mustangs in the family: my 18 year old has a 2004, my 20 year old an 86 AND and 87 (both GT hatches), and I have the 2005. I'm pleading with my wife to let me buy an 89 GT that someone is selling for a song...

Have had mine for 22 months. The only Warranty/TSB issues have been the "grinding/growling" in the tranny which they pulled and put in some new parts and a missing brake line bracket which caused some"interesting" sounds when I first got it.

Yeh, well your going to hate me, but Im a teenager and there was a really good deal on the car in april that we couldnt pass up (6500 off sticker, and 1.9 for 60) but I didnt have my permit, so its been sitting in the garage mostly, except for the sunday drives in the summer just to get it out a little. I wouldve gotten the same car w/o leather/ cheap financing/ shaker/ side airbags/ iup etc for the same prcice in a year.

Welp...I got mine March 25th 2005 and I've got over 41,000 miles on mine. The issues I've had taken care of is new fuel tank(shutting off while filling issue), new drivers side door handle(spring busted and it wouldn't go all the way back in on it's own) and new parking brake cabling(kept freezing up on me last winter). Other than that, it's been great.

I got mine in April 06. Only had two problems of which both are common. I had to have the dealer repaint under master cylinder cause I did not know about the power steering cap leaking until it was too late. And I still have that annoying clunk noise in the front passenger side suspension. I have tried every fix posted here but still making noise (still gotta figure that one out cause the dealer still cannot find a problem there). Other that that all is well.
I bought my car to drive as well...16,000 miles in 7 months.

Nice, very nice. I love those Foose rims. The chrome finish goes very well with Mineral Gray.
Now you need little things like a shorty antenna...

I bought mine on Nov. 1, 2004 and just turned 22,000 miles. Nearly every TSB known to man has been preformed on this car:
1. New Shaker 1000 radio
2. Popping noise
3. Rear axle whine - ring and pinion replaced 3 times.
4. Fuel tank
5. Fuel pump
6. Verticle swaybar links - did not fix the front end clunk issue
7. Lower control arm/ball joints - did fix the clunk issue and poor steering/handling issue. There is not a TSB on this one.
8. Replaced FTP fuel line because check engine light kept coming on
9. Replaced drivers door window glass - it came chipped from the factory
10. Rattle in dash TSB done
11. Replaced throttle sensor (Potentiometer) because it kept going to limp home mode.
By far the most difficult to get resolved was the front clunk/steering issue. From 7,000 to 21,000 miles the Ford engineer insisted the clunk was caused by the shock valve (and "they all do this so we can't fix it") and the car steered/handled normally. Finally, after paying a Firestone dealer to check it out, Firestone found bad ball joints. Ford dealer could not duplicate the problem and would do nothing to replace them. As a last resort, I jacked the car up in the dealers parking lot and took the service tech by the hand and had him physically get under the car and look at the ball joints while I shook the wheel in and out - at last they agreed the ball joints were loose. The bottom line is they installed new lower control arms and the clunk is gone and the car now steers like a Mustang should. I'm still upset that I had to drive the car for 14,000 miles, knowing something wasn't right, before Ford agreed to fix it.
But even after all this trouble, I like the car and would not trade it, except maybe for a 2007.
