1st GT Mustang for me!
-- Shaker 500 audio system (6-cd changer, 8 speakers, MP3 capable)
-- Leather sport buckets
The leather steering wheel and 17" painted aluminum bullet wheels were standard on all Mustang GT models.
The Interior Upgrade Package with the aluminum dash, Message Center, aluminum door scuff plates, and MyColor was a $400 option -- it could be ordered with any Mustang, including the V6 models. Leather steering wheel and shift **** were added to V6 models with this option.
The printed brochure and order guides listed the leather-wrapped wheel as standard on all Mustang GT models, but Ford changed this after the brochures were printed.
Thanks for the correction!
Okay then, the leather wheel is only included with the Interior Upgrade Package.

The message center LED displays vehicle status information:
Odometer / Trip Odometer
Miles to Empty
Average MPG
Fuel Economy
Gallons Used
Time Elapsed
Average MPH
The Fuel Economy display is really lame...
it's simply a bar graph showing 0-7 bars, and there is a direct correlation between the throttle input and number of bars: press the throttle and fewer bars display. It would be interesting to see real MPG numbers instead of the graph, but the graph is more annoying than useful, IMO.
The rest of the message center is very accurate and useful. Every time I have checked it, the average MPG is correct, as is the Gallons Used. The Miles to Empty is based on the average MPG of the last 500 miles, so if you are currently averaging more or less than that number, this can be off. I have driven into a gas station with the Miles to Empty reading 0 for several miles, because I was getting highway mileage for almost an entire tank.
The message center also displays warning and error messages like "Door Ajar," "Trunk Ajar," "Security event occurred," and worse if you have an error code.
As nice as the message center is, comparing it to the new Track Apps LED in the 2013 Mustang is like compaing an old black & white tube television to an HDTV. But for 2005 the message center was quite nice.

I find the fuel economy graph to be very useful. I know its just based on the gas pedal an how much you press it down, but that is a direct correlation to what kind of gas mileage you get. If your light on the gas pedal on the highway, hovering 4 to 5 bars(I dont think its 7, rather 5) I get great MPG.but if I average 2-4 bars, I obviously get worse. Its a good basis to go off of but obviously there are other factors so its not perfect.
I haven't see what's in the new 2013, cause I know ill be jealous lol.
