15 years prior to Mustang no tickets....

32 days and 650 miles with Mustang - 1 ticket.

I was curious my 18 mph over ticket cost me $131.
How much are tickets in other parts of the country?

To add insult to injury I was on the way to pick up my Eibach springs that were not supposed to be here until later this week but came in early when I was pulled over.

It's not the fine that hurts so bad. It's the increase in insurance premiums when they find out.

It depends...

My last ticket was 51 in a 40...on a 4 lane divided...and it was $250! Acworth (yep, I live here too)...how crazy is that?

It really depends on how many tickets you have had in recent years..they have a sliding scale.

If you can afford the time, fight it. If you go to court and the cop doesn't show (about a 1 in 4 chance, and I like those odds)...you will not get off.

Exactly! I speeding ticket only costs you once but the insurance increase is the gift that keeps on giving
In Maine the minimum speeding fine now is like $180 and goes up from there.

see that's funny. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in about 10 years, give or take, on my THIRD day owning this car I got clocked at 18 over too. I know it's going to be over 300 bucks (58 in a 40). Nice to see I'm not the only one...

The cops are ALWAYS more suspicous of a Mustang regardless of what year or color it is. I don't drive mine full time but when I do, I swear I am 60-80% more likely to get pulled over. I don't recall being pulled over in either of my other 2 vehicles, just the Mustangs.

Maybe we should call it automotive profiling.

Not that concerned about the insurance, I got 2 tickets when I was 17 and the premiums never went up. 15 years later with the same company (USAA) hopefully I will have th same luck.

You guys just have really bad luck. I always seem to get off when I should be getting a ticket. Had a police car nudge it's way in front of me to get the person going the same speed as I was. I got pulled over twice in a year when I was driving my red volvo. lol.

I got clocked doing 90 in a 55 a year ago. I paid about 200, it would have been way more than that if I didn't go to court. I talked the cop down to an 80 in a 55.

It all depends on if they check with DMV. I've been snagged and slipped through the cracks. If they let it slide long enough, it won't matter when they do find it.

Welp...I just got pulled over today, but not for speeding. A car was going to turn left and I passed it on the right using the shoulder. Fortunately for me the cop only wrote me a warning. I guess I've been lucky, 1.5 years and 37,000 miles later with the car and I've only been pulled over once with a warning!!!

It helps if you don't tell the cop he is full of ****.
