I just turned over 44,000 miles coming in to work tonight. I just can't stop driving it! These things are a blast to drive! I Got mine on 11/6/04 and only the "Strut tower" and "Gas tank slow to fill" TSBs were needed. I did get the E brake cable replaced the last time I was in there due to freezing up with water

Welcome from this side of the pond.

My '05 s197 (Redfire red GT, sport exhaust) has done 34k miles as a daily drive & I love every minute of it

Many on our Mustang forum in UK garage up their beasties and only take out weekends/summer time.

This I cannot understand. If you married Angela Jolie would you only insist making love 6 months of the year?

I am about to tick over 65,000 miles. No issues outside of the transmission TSB at 34,000 miles. 2nd set of tires almost gone. Still runs as good if not better than it did when I bought it in April '05.

I dont see why people garage them up, if you love them so much why not drive em? its not gonna hurt. driving on some wet road is fun with the TCs offf but i guess we all have our opinions

Well at 75,300, had to get the wheels re-align. I guess this can happen if you do not rotate your tires. It cost me $80 at Monro but the car drives much smother.

I think the last time I posted was before I got my car in December 2004?

Anyways, Just about ready to hit 85K miles... Same story here, tires, gas tank, parking brake, skipper 500, strut bracket noise.

Today the passenger seat fold down lever thing broke. I think it was due to the cold. At about 80K the gear shifter got a little squeaky and there is a strange noise from behind the dash on acceleration.

The driver seat (red leather) is starting to show some wrinkles and wear, not as bad as the prior model seats though. The skipper 500 buttons got shiny with use, it's kinda ugly.

Other than that, great car, would buy another in a heartbeat.

Neil

I am at 99k with only the rear axle issue requiring attention. This is my business vehicle so it spends a good amount of time on the highways of America. It makes traveling a joy!

Surviving Decimal Point at 100K?

When the 100,000 comes up on the dial let us know if the decimal point is still there. Early on here at TMS (2005) there was speculation that the decimal point would disappear, some said that a "1" would appear just to the left of here--> 99,999. 100,000 or 100,000.1 and the decimal point still reading.
The suspense is killing me!

Interesting to see the varied amounts everyone drives their car. I guess it comes down to personal habits, whether it's a daily driver, second "fun" type vehicle, how far from work you live etc. And of course where you live and if you drive it in bad weather. For me the latter is the detemining factor, I don't like to drive mine in bad or wet weather, and I live in the Seattle area. My one year anniversary with the car is today and I've got 8,900 miles on it. My job is 38 miles away and I carpool so only drive every other week, and I drive my truck when it's wet or slick out. Actually seems to make me enjoy it even more when I get behind the wheel of the stang! I'll hit 100K someday and let you know how things are then!

P.S. I have 108K on my 03' F150 and it's been flawless! It's a Supercab 4x4 w/5.4 and I've been running a CAI an superchips premium fuel towing tune on it almost from day one. Nothing and I mean nothing has gone wrong with it, I haven't even changed a light bulb yet. Take that Toyota!!!

These cars are meant to be driven and driven often, you only live one. That being said, I have had my car for about a year and only have 4,000 miles .

The decimal point does disappear. Not an issue, as I don't make a point of tracking tenths of a mile.

Dang I am way behind, I have had my stang for 20 months now and just hit 7900mi. I work from home and when I do run around town I drive my Dodge Ram (almost 1 year old and only 3000mi) so I don't have alot of reason to rack up miles.

I will add a few more miles to the stang when summer arrives.

I plan on recording the moment when I hit 100,000. Here me practicing for the moment.
