Well, it's a sad and exciting day today. Sad because I no longer have my '05 Sonic Blue GT Premium, but exciting because I now have an order in for a Vista Blue Premium GT with the Med. Parchment interior, no rear spoiler, the Comfort pkg (heated seats and mirror, etc.). I really wanted the stitched dash and console covers, but didn't want the mostly black interior you have to get with it.

I know it's going to take a while to get here (actually, to Seattle), but I already know it's worth the wait. It's going to be a lot of fun flying up to Seattle so I can drive the car down the coast.

Now the fun starts, calling ERL, fretting over anything that could slow the delivery down, and getting anxious for when I pick it up.

the Comfort pkg (heated seats and mirror, etc.). [/b][/quote]

Hey Jay, congrats! Did you get any details on the mirror that comes with the comfort pkg? I'm trying to figure out if it's just an electrochromatic dimming mirror, or if it also has homelink and/or the temp display. Ford has a version available as an accessory mirror with one. two, or three of the "features" but I haven't seen anything that says which one comes with the comfort package. I ordered just the heated seats in mine, but if I knew it included homelink too, I'd add the full comfort pack.

Good luck with the build date too. I called my dealer Friday and my order evidently wasn't pulled last week. He told me to check back this week.

Bob, I'm going to call my dealer on Monday to see if mine's been scheduled yet. I tried calling him on Friday, but he was out for the holiday weekend. I was glad to see that Ed (ISELLFORD) got scheduled.

Bob, thanks. I don't have any more details about the mirror. I'm hoping it has homelink, but if not, I'll get one from the parts department. I actually had the dealer I bought the '05 from put in the mirror with tem, compass, and homelink when I bought the '05.

If I do find anything out, I'll post it. My dealer (especially the parts desk) don't seem to know all that much, really. Wanted to order the FRPP Handling kit to be installed at delivery, and none of the salesmen (at supposedly the largest Mustang dealership in the state, and second in the country or something like that) knew anything about it. The parts desk had to look it up in a catalog, and I pointed it out to him, he was looking in the wrong area. Then he made a comment something like "We don't order from these guys that much." Uh, FRPP? You don't get stuff from them much? They wanted more than I've seen online anyway, so I'll juet get it myself and install it myself.

But at least I got my order in, and I'll be checking ERL weekly for a while.

The spec book and Mustang Source book only say it is an Electrochromic Mirror with Compass. I would imaging if it had a temp guage or homelink that they would mention it.
I just put one with temp in my wife's new Escape.

I guess I'll have to get the one with the temp and homelink and upgrade. Oh, well. Wonder if I can still go back and pull the one off my old car. Anyone know how hard it is to remove one? I mean the wiring, I know the mirror comes off the window very easily. I still have the stock mirror to replace it with, too.

If I can do it without pulling the whole header off, I might just go do that, and save the mirror for the next car.

I think you'd save yourself a ton of money even if you were only able to get the mirror itself out of the old car. I've seen harnesses for sale on ebay for $30 but you'd need to make sure they were for your mirror (I think the manufacturer name on ebay is something like Gentek - just search for homelink mirror). There's also a temp sensor mounted somewhere as well, probably in the front fender or front bumper area.
