07 Calipers Painted?

I've read that a lot of people complained about their calipers rusting. It appears that mine are already painted. Is it possible that the calipers on the 07s are already painted as mine still look perfect or, does it take a while before they start to rust? Thanks

I haven't stuck a magnet to the calipers to test, but the brochure said they were aluminum. The center of the rotors appear to be painted a flat gray as well, most likely to keep them from rusting early on.

My calipers have started to discolor a bit. I suspect they will need paint in the spring after the salt starts to eat the aluminum. eeek.

The center hubs on the rotors are flashed with gray paint. nothing too great though because they rust after 4 months.

In the spring I am going to throw the brembos I bought on the front probably and paint the rear calipers and the rotor centers all around.

I love how you can really see the brakes on these cars. They looked good brand new, but I have to keep them looking that way lol.

Thanks. I didn't know if I should paint them with a high temp clear coat. I like the current "silver" appearence as they contrast with my black bullitt wheels.

Even the best clear will yellow and peel IMO. Silver caliper paint may be your best bet.
