Hello everyone. I just want to say that I have enjoyed reading the forums these past couple of weeks. I drove a 73' vert in high school (Dad's baby) and have been a fan ever since. When I saw the 05' cornfield commercial I knew that I had to get one. I have driven a JEEP Wrangler the past 8 years and love it. I am glad to see that the Mustang community seems just as close and friendly as the JEEP community.
I have a question about the DORA for 06'. I ordered my Mustang on June 18th. I got my VOC. I asked when I would get the DORA and the dealer said she would send it as soon as it came in. I thought it was supposed to be in right after they placed the order so I followed up with an email today asking about it since I have not gotten anything up to this point. I was told that they do not have it yet but it is on the "order list" for them. It is listed as unscheduled clean. What does this mean? Should my dealership have a DORA for an 06' already or is this normal since it is unscheduled? Thank you all in advance.

 

If they really did order your car back on 6/18 they should have a DORA by now. It will be dated the same day they ordered the car, but they don't get it back for a few days.

Clean & Unscheduled - is a status for an order - it means just that... the order is clean (no problems... ordered an option thats not allowed w/ your model) and unscheduled (no scheduled build date)

If you really want to make sure they ordered your car, I'd want to see a DORA.

If it is unscheduled and clean then there is a DORA somewhere at the dealership for the car, period.

 

my dealer just left a message on my machine saying the order bank is in and they are now waiting on the factory....ISELLFORD,what does this mean???? :scratch:

 

Haven't the foggiest what they mean; maybe they mean the order has been placed and they are waiting for Ford to schedule the car.

 

I was just toalking to the sales manager at my local dealer and they are telling me that they cannot actually order a 2006 yet!!! I am very confused by this... I was under the impression that orders were being accepted for over a month now. They told me that they were finishing "all the 2005 orders" before the 2006 orders would be accepted.

Anyone else have other information???

 

Update: I talked with the dealer and she said the order is in and to the factory but nothing is scheduled=> no DORA until it is scheduled. Does anyone who has ordered an 06' have a DORA in hand?

Yes, I had mine days after placing my order. Sounds like they are jerking you around!!!

 

2005's were balanced out last week.

The 1st 2006's will be pulled tonite for the 1st week of August scheduling. I already have one that is lining up to pull tonite.

 

As I have explained in many other threads. When a unit is ordered, the dealer immediately sees an vehicle order confirmation [which most of us print out for our records]. A DORA is generated within 1-2 business days, period. I have '06 DORA's in my file from 3-4 weeks ago for '06 Mustangs. Where a lot of consumers run into problems is that they are talking to a floor salesperson and they usually are not the ones who physically place the order or even know how the ordering process works. A lot of TMS'ers are more educated inthe ordering process thanks to the many Ford people who frequent these forums. Good luck with your purchaes.

I can back that up. I visited the dealership on Saturday 6/11 and signed the paperwork. My order was placed the following Monday 6/13. My DORA came back 2 days later, and it was dated that same previous Monday. My salesperson mailed the DORA out immedately and I received it Thursday 6/16 - 4 days after the order was placed.

 

I would say to anyone trying to order an '06 right now... IF your dealer says they can't order them yet... move on.

They are either jerking you around for some reason or they are uninformed dealers. Perhaps they have people who ordered and '05 and aren't going to get them and are waiting for them to place an order first... I don't know.

Bottom line the '06 has been available for order for about a month now and as far as a DORA, like Ed says you should have one two to three days after the order max.
