On a tangent....I believe ISELLFORD the other day said the tires on the 18s will be 235/50/18. So, anybody care to guess what brand of tires they will slap on them? Tirerack only shows BFW KDWS (not the aggressive pattern on the showcar), Kuhmo, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, and Goodyear Eagle RS-A. These are the all-season tires of that size, and I think it is safe to say they will put all-seasons on them. Most manufacturers these days don't slap summer-only tires on cars. Also safe to say it won't be the Kuhmo. Any thoughts, preferences, etc?

Nope, but I know they are making one. That's 2007 limited edition.
Bummer, a C/S the same year as the GT500. I was hoping (like a lot of other people!) for the C/S this year. Oh well.

I can't wait to get more info on the Pony package and these new "mystery" wheels for the GT. And, just like everyone else, I can't wait to see a real pic of the Vista Blue.

Yeah, I emailed a local dealer about ordering an 06 with this:
Hello,
I am writing concerning the upcoming 2006 mustang. I understand order banks will be opening soon and am interested in placing an order for a 2006 mustang gt. I would like information on ordering an '06 mustang gt from your dealership with regards to your allocation for mustang gts and pricing thereof. I am sending this email to several dealerships in hopes of finding the right deal for myself. I appreciate your time and information in regards to this matter.

Thanks for your time,
And got this back:
Thank you for your interest in the 2005 Mustang GT, however there are no GT's available at this time. We are taking orders, and the Mustang will convert into a 2006 and unfortunately there will be a waiting period before your order will be processed. There is no pricing available for the 2006 model year as of yet.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
First, I never asked about the 05. Second I said I wanted to order, nothing about if they had any in stock. Sounds like an automated response. I'll probably know more about the 06 when it finally gets posted on here then them.

page 135 of the 2005 OM makes mention of 255/45R18 tires. Would seem to me that might be the size.

It also implies that they are summer only since it says the 16's and 17's are all season, but doesn't about the 18's.

18's weren't offered on the '05 or do you mean the 2006 OM? Anyways, by putting summer only on the 18's, that pretty much limits most of the country. I am sure they want to sell this option to more than people than just those in Florida, southern Texas, southern California, southern Arizona, southern New Mexico, ect...

on page 135 of the 2005 Mustang owners manual it says:

"If your vehicle has P215/65R16 or P235/55R17 tires, they have all weather treads to provide traction in rain or snow. However, in some climates, you may need to use snow tires and chain. Use chains on the tires only in emergency or if the law requires them.
Follow these guideline when using snow tires and chaines:
-Do not use chains with size P235/55R17 or P255/45R18 tires."

I bet they wrote the owners manual before they decided to hold the 18" wheels until 2006, which is why there is mention of the 255/45R18 tires. Also, it seems from what is written that the tires on the 18" rims will not be all season tires, as they were not listed with the 215/65R16s and 235/55R17s.

So the Pony Package only applies to the V6. :notnice:

IMHO, the V6 will have a better looking grille than the GT.

Or they could of deleted it in one spot and forgot on the other? I don't know if the 2005 OM is that great of a reference for 2006 options considering it was made about a year ago.

Yeah, but the 18" wheels were originally going to be on the 05 until there was some sort of problum with the supplier that forced them to wait until 06. In fact, BF Goodrich ran some ads about being OE on the 05 mustang GT before it was released. I think they were supposed to supply the tires for the 18" rims. I have a feeling that they are going to use the smae tires they planed on using beofre. Don't know if they will be all seasons or not.

Someone on here, I think ISELLFORD, forced the system and ordered a tungsten '06 last week. That person said that the order readout stated that the fanblades included 235/50/18s.

I called my dealer today and he said that they have all the other cars 2006 order guides and that the mustang's was one of the couple that have been delayed due to finalizing pricing and options. He said to check back later this week. It should pop up in a couple of days.

So a little self interest here... Besides the ca special any word on other possible specialty vehicles... Bullit, boss, mach, etc... I am pretty sure they will have the bullett with the remake of the movie coming soon.

Thank you for looking into it Paul. Will the dealers also find out their allocation when they receive the order guide?

Of course, if the prices or allocation aren't known by the dealer, even if they have the order guide, I won't be any closer in finding a dealer that will actually tell me they'll accept the X-Plan.
