05GT w/FR500's
Found this on another part of this site, not sure if many people have seen it.
But my question... Has anyone seen this in person?
FR500's on an 05, I mean.
How does it look... Do they stick out more than a 1/4 or 1/2 of an inch out back?
They should not stick out in the front but it's the back that I am wondering about.

Here's a pic of an '05 with the wrong wheels on it.
You have to look close since it's only a picture and it's not a straight on shot, but since you can see it in the pic imagine how obviuos it is in real life.

Here's what it should look like.

Having the wheels stick out isn't that bad of a look, now if they were in the 20's+ that would be a different story as the car would start to look like a hotwheels or roller skate but having a pair of 18's stick out an inch with some fat rubber really wouldn't look bad at all, atleast in my opinion.

But think about the half inch or full inch you'll add on top of that if you go with 18x9's or 18x10's.
You really think it'll look good sticking out that extra TWO inches?
Maybe for a drag car, but not a good looking street ride.

I kind of agree... but for the sake of conversation I think if you lowered the yellow 05 above with the 95 R's... the wheel/tire package would sit flush with the fender, it's hard to tell though because this car has what looks like at least a couple of inches of gap.
I guess there's only one way to find out!

It has a couple of inches vertical. Not horizontal. If you look at the picture above you'll see the tire comes out past the edge of the fender well. If you lower it you increase the chance of the wheel well lip coming down and hitting the tire. If you stay with the correct offset the tire has room to up up inside the well.
I don't care how low of an offset or how wide of a wheel/tire you put on the car. If you keep the diameter of the tire the same the wheel well gap will NOT change.

Gotcha... look at this picture though, also from the same post.
These look like Saleen replicas... should be the same offset, unless it's just me they don't look like they come past the fender lip.
I think this angle is a bit better to talk about my point.
What do you think Jason?
