I've wanted a Mustang for 15 years, and was ready to buy a 01 Bullitt or an 04 Mach 1 but saw pictures of the new 05 and decided to wait (longer)... It was well worth the wait, this car is awesome inside and out!!!

First stang...
Grandpa had a '69 Mach 1
Aunt has a '98 coupe (v6)
Great new job allows for car and insurance with zero help front parents at 19 (not even a co-sign on the loan). Getting an '05 GT Prem Black/Dk Chrcl Int, IUP, Side Air Bags, Shaker 1000, Bullit wheels. Ordered 10/08, Received VIN early last week, hoping to get a build date this week sometime...
So Psyched...can only be explained through banana dance...

This will be my first Stang and second car. I'm driving a '91 Firebird Formula now, but it's time for a change (and engine/tranny work). I've always wanted a Stang with classic looks and modern "guts". What's that? The '05 GT? Dind ding ding!!! We have a winner.
(I'm also graduating from ASU this spring so I can even rationalize it!)

and if so what made you buy one now?

I had an interest in the 04's briefly, as my teen daughter encouraged me to trade my Mini Cooper in.. I test drove everything in the 04' mustang line, and was unimpressed.
I saw concept pics of the 05' and decided to wait. I'm glad I did...

This will be my third ('76 and '95). After the '95 died I have been patentially waiting to get another mustang. Just so happens the new and exciting model was coming out. So I bought my parents' 97 T-Bird to drive while I wait. I like the 05 much better the the 95-04 years. I also like the fact of have 300hp.

This will be my first! I almost had a '79 Cobra in '84 but it didn't quite work out. I'm pretty much a Ford guy, and grew up in a Ford family and I've always loved the Mustangs - especially the early years.
I just loved the retro looks, and decided I was going to have one the first time I saw a picture of it! I just happened to be in the right situation and ready for a new toy.

I hope to get a new Stang in the Spring!!! I've always liked Mustangs but haven't owned one...I'm a Jeep guy and I'm in my 4th Jeep but with current life situation and Jeep in good shape I'm keeping it for family trips and hauling needs and adding the Stang to the family stable for daily driving and fun weekends. The kids are 6 and 9 so they will fit fine in the small backseats and Daddy will get his musclecar fix!!!
...oh, maybe it is an early midlife crisis too...I've been absolutely infatuated with the 05 since I saw the red concept on the Motortrend cover so long ago now. It really grabbed me, and then I caught Gone in 60 Seconds on TV (hadn't seen it before) and fell in love with Eleanor so that really cemented my desire to have a NEW Mustang that looked like the OLD Shelby's (and yes, I know Eleanor isn't a "pure" Shelby thanks to the movie magic and Chip Foose...but you know what I mean).
