Is the 05 your first mustang?

My first Mustang. And my first new car. Love the retro style of the 05. Plus I can afford a 30K car while I'm living overseas.
Too bad it won't arrive until January(if I'm lucky). But it'll be one of a very few in the UK.

This is actually my first Ford. I wanted a sportier car than my Volvo (not hard to do) and started looking at the RX8, the Mustang and the Infinity G35. I saw the 05 Mustang at the Atlanta Car show and decided to get it.
My build date is the week of 11/8.

I hate to admit it, but I have a L-O-N-G history of buying conservative cars (after my initial exposure to the original muscle cars way back when, that is). I picked up an '02 GT Premium Convertible a while back just for the heck of it. My bitter half and I enjoyed the Vert so much, we just had to continue the string. Placed my order for th '05 Vert today (bye the way, antbody know anybody who wants to by a pristine '02 Vert about March ???).

This is my first. My husband had an 85 at one point...until he got the brakes hot and wrecked it.
I've always like the 60s models, but never really cared much for the rest of them, so the 05 was just perfect for me.
I wanted a new one because I rarely find a used car that the owner took good care of and I don't plan on selling this one anytime soon.

I had a red '88 GT for maybe 3 years or so - my first 'real' car that could HAUL. Finally had to unload it (was looking at having to sink too much money into the '88 and was on a tight budget) - needed something new, affordable, and dependable . Bought a new 2000 Escort ZX2 - been real happy with it and never had any major problems.
Within the past year, found myself in the psotiion to be able to buy another brand new car and been have been intrigued with the '05 since I first heard about the GT and saw the concept way back.
After seeing the final product, my decision almost made itself for me. Four years with a four-cylinder is QUITE enough thank you!!
Best thing is, my older brother is the family FORD nut - his wife's truck is on it's way out...... so while I will have my BLACK GT, she (and he of course) will have their REDFIRE GT...

Good god! You lasted FOUR YEARS with a 4 cylinder? Oh man, 6 months has been torture for me. I don't know how you've managed.
I used not give a rats butt about fast cars...until I drove a 4 cylinder.

See my sig.
I'm not driving a Mustang now for the first time since 1976. Our current ride allows for the bride's preferences. But she knows how I feel about them, and WANTS me to have my '05 vert.
Such a terrific bride.

Yes this will be my first Mustang.
Several other firsts
- First RWD vehicle
- First 5-spd manual
- First Coupe
Why?
- Most bang for the buck
- Retro styling reminds me of my dad's Mustangs
- 300HP for under 30K!

This is not only my first Mustang, it is the very first NEW car I have ever bought.
I've owned (used) maybe 20 cars, never younger than 5 years old, never for longer than 3 years or so.
I looked at the Audi TT, the Neon SRT-4, the Golf R32, the 350Z, the S2000, and used: 928 GTS, Mercedes 500 SL, 944 convertibles.
The Mustang was the right look, at the right price, and it was American, and it was a new car. Everything else just fell short in some way or another.
If it would just get here, everything would be fine. :bang: :bang:

Yep, I'll be 36 in 7 days and this is my first one. Took me 20 years to be in the right life situation to do it. But it'll be well worth the wait, no kids anymore, cheap insurance and no payments. I can't freaking wait! Plus I plan to buy a 68 Stang and rebuild it......just something to play with!

When I buy, this will be my first. Never was a fan of the Fox body.
My current car is starting to get long in the tooth, and I had no idea what next vehicle I wanted to get. Then I went to the Dallas Auto Show with the intent of checking out the RX-8 and seeing if there any other car that struck my fancy. There was....the '05 Mustang. I SO liked the 60's era 'Stangs and this was instant .

I will be replacing my 2002 with an 05, in april, when the lease is up. I hate to admit it here, but I cross shopped the 05, with the magnum r/t hemi. That is a kick hiney car, however, with the hemi and some basic options, it is approaching 40 thousand Canadian. I can probally get a GT with IUP (not really too interested in the other options) for low 30's (Canadian.)

I've never, ever owned a Mustang and I'm 50 years old. However, very soon I will buy either an '05 GT 5 speed OR, a 2004 Cobra. I'm still trying to decide which.
Today, the '05 is my first pick. But - every time I look at a Cobra, either pics or up close and personal, IT is my first choice!
I saw my first '05 on a lot Saturday and had the dealership been open, it's highly possible I would have been driving the Black GT automatic or the Satin Silver GT 5 speed manual I saw! I loved them both and the thought of a Cobra just flew out the window!
So, either way, I am about to buy my first Mustang - and it will be a new one; I'm just not sure whether it will be an '04 Cobra or an '05 GT.

05 GT will be my first mustang, and my first new car. The only mustangs i ever liked were the ones made in the 60s. I actually disliked all of the recent style mustangs up until i saw the picture of the 05. I was dead set on buying a WRX, but decided to wait and get the new pony. Can't wait until christmas!

Yes this is my first Mustang!
I came from a 98 VW Golf GL to this. Thats 4 cylinders, 115hp, front wheel drive, front disc/rear drum, roll up windows, cloth seats and an automatic.
I now have a 300hp 8 cylinder beast, with a 5 speed manual, red leather seats, and rear wheel drive.
This is a HUGE changeup for me and I am loving every minute of it. I think I am up to over 600 miles on my car in just over a week. None of my friends have high end cars, so this is my first time driving ANYTHING like this. I never knew what 150+hp even felt like.
If the money is right down the road, I may just switch to a Corvette. I've never driven one of those, but just sitting in them makes me drool.

My first Mustang -- My first Ford.
I hate to **** off anyone here -- but I just thought every Mustang made from 1980 through 2004 were pretty ugly!
That said - I was in love with the 65 through early 70's Mustangs since I was old enough to know what driving was.
2005 reminds me of that type of car....hence the order last week
